I am planning to postpone writing this story for a few months, as the idea still needs to be more thoroughly developed to make this work. Maybe there's a chance that I would also stop writing this story.

 

Man the wizard-wank in this thread is so fucking high.

I’d say grab some of those defenceless muggleborn children before they get their wands when they’re helpless and weak, condition them mentally, torture them, rape them mentally, physically what have you until they’re a writhing mass of obscurial and set them loose in areas where your technology fails.

It’d also take a single media blitz for any world leader to inform 7 billion people of the situation and set off scores of people much smarter than you or I coming up with potential solutions. Pay some fuckawful criminal wizards or what not to shield the best and brightest from the magic rain memory wipe. Find those with the sickest fetishes and no loyalty to the wizarding world and satisfy them.

Any particularly isolationist wizarding nations also potentially risk having their Muggleborns turned against them, think potentially China, Cambodia, Poland even, places where rampant death and genocides occurred. A group that fights for the society that accepted and trained them rather than the one that abandoned them blah blah blah.

Wizards and witches may not live a backward society or some bullshit like that but they ARE complacent, potentially complacent enough to not notice the scheming and plotting of world governments and organisations for who knows how long.

The wizarding world isn’t a world of gods and ordinary people are capable of some depraved, meaningless acts of cruelty even when their lives aren’t on the line.

TLDR: wizards would probably win any all or nothing battle, but such submissiveness is fucking weird. I mean, we are muggles after all.

tl;dr Give a man a wand and he could conquer the world and there is nothing Muggles could do about it.

 

The main prolem with Hymsicality's ideas is that muggles have no way of incentivizing a wizard to do anything. Anything a muggle has that a magical wants, a criminal no less, the magical can simply take without the extra hassle.

A wizard working for a muggle would never happen.

 

Well, you could make it work narratively, but a Muggle likely couldn't bribe a witch or wizard. Could maybe see exceptions for some exotic alloy or formula that is useful for magicals but just isn't worth the hassle of stealing the means of production for?

 

Throughout movies and books all over the years, there have been several examples of normal people controlling people with abilities, some mutant stories, metahuman stories. He'll, even in Canon, there are house elves which are controlled by wizards, if any free elf wanted to take revenge on wizard, they could do it. Just look at how Dolby threw Lucius off his feet in book 2.

 

We all wish we were wizards and witches though.

As far as Dobby is concerned, if it had ever gotten out that he threw off Lucius Malfoy, Malfoy would have had him executed. Remember Book 3. If not for Harry's intervention Buckbeak would have been someone's dinner.

3. Well, we see from the sixth book world leaders are kept abreast of events that happen, they even vaguely know the effects of dementors, that giants are real etc.
4. I actually vaguely agree with you, a wizard would pretty much never work for a muggle. But the worlds aren’t exactly mutually exclusive, people who are wizards don’t stop being people, it might not even be that hard to flip a shitstain like teenage Zacharias smith and he ain’t even that bad.
5. The rest of my suppositions were come up with in like 2 seconds, I’m neither particularly clever nor a great writer, you saying the fandom can come up with somewhat readable harry/petunia but there’s not a good idea in sight about muggle vs wizards.
