I have so many of the Halloween CE's. I'm honestly happy that looking comparatively at the banners on JP's side in the future that I don't have or want to roll for anyone after Halloween for Cleopatra and Lancer Vlad until Christmas for Ishtar and even then I'm on the fence about her.

Then again Albert, the main guy on the NA side for FGO, said that things might get changed up for us. I'm split on that really, I wouldn't mind getting banners for some servants but I also like to know what's going to happen and have something we can predict.

 

So I'm going to assume that the next big event is the Hallowe'en rerun? Does this mean people can get Caster Liz, or is it a new welfare servant we hopefully get?

Also, EX luck kicked in after much attempts. Was hoping to get Drake up 1 NP level, instead...

Well next event starts October 4th, and it is the Halloween Rerun. Which will last for two weeks for some reason. And yes, you're going to be able to get Caster Liz from it. And then after that, it will be this year's Halloween Event proper, which will have Brave Liz - a Saber, ror welfare.

 

People who weren't there for the Halloween event last year will be able to get Caster Liz. I don't think you can get her again if you already have her.

The next welfare for those with Caster Liz will be Brave Liz (Saber) in this year's Halloween, which should be after the rerun.

So, I had a spring of luck last night when rolling. I was trying for Ozy and Nitocris as I didn't have them and despite not being amazing and a SR I really like the look and the character of Nitocris.

In the span of a bit over 300 quartz (170 came from rewards and a previous bought pack during Nerofest) I got Ozy, Altera (Spirit Origin as I have her at NP5), Xuanzang (Who I didn't have and wanted to look for any banner with her), and Lancer Artoria.

So being a combination of baffled and amazed I chased after my luck and bought another pack. Got Ozy again, Nitocris (Finally), and Lancer Artoria again.

504 quartz, 6 SSR's; 2 of which weren't on rate up and one I wanted. I laughed because I was just that amazed.

 

Used a few tickets and one 10er roll and only got junk again, like not even mildly useful CEs or anything. Seeing rolls with several good cards is so wild to me when others post it. xD

 

People only feel the need to post those rolls because 99.9% of all their other rolls are, like yours, pure trash.

I have completely ignored this event in favor of playing Dragalia Lost. I will now spend the rest of the day grinding my ass off to get everything I want.

 

This event doesn't fucking end. I finished it like, in three days. I just want to see Cleo.

 

Tried to roll for Jalter and got absolutely nothing, not even a moderately useful CE, which tilted me so hard, it sapped all my desire to play again. Bah.

 

That really sucks, man. Even more so if you saved up a few hundred sq for her.

The gacha is a cruel and unforgiving mistress.

 

Like, i know that a 0.7% chance is a long shot at best but that I didn't get anything halfway good out of it really frustrated me. Think the best card I got was fucking Robin Hood.

 

It will happen a lot to be honest, and it will only get worse from here as the 4star CE pool becomes increasingly diluted by trash.

After my first tumble with Jalter and blowing a brutal 330+ sq before she came home, I reached an understanding with this game.

If it's a servant you really, really, really, really, really want, give yourself a good chance by saving up for 5 or 6 months. Yolo roll on a very limited basis, and go in to the target summon with 300+ sq set aside.

But even then, be prepared for disappointment. Don't expect to get anything. Ever. Not with 300 sq. Not with 3000 sq. That way, when Kirei graces you with his tight abs 15 times in a row, you won't feel like throwing your phone in the toilet.

 

270 quartz and 18 tickets later and no Jalter. Well, fuck.

I would go even further and suggest you to never do Yolo rolls. You don't win. If you're lucky, laws of average means you're fucked when you're after someone you actually want, if if you're unlucky you still decreased your chances of getting the 5* you wanted. So save. Save until you're absolutely sure you want that servant.

 

I understand why people do this, but I think an occasional yolo 30 roll + a handful of tix (on limited servants that you like, but are not in love with) is healthy for the soul of the f2p / minnow / g-gacha player. Surprise 4/5 stars are always a possibility (like my 30 sq + ticket Raikou), and you'll probably at least get an event CE here and there, which helps with farming, thus lowering overall frustration levels with the game.

Minimizing frustration is key for FGO enjoyment, and there is nothing more frustrating than blowing your entire year's worth of f2p sq on a single banner and still only getting trash / non-limited servs that you didn't particularly want.

This is my general spending guide as a minnow i.e currently dropping less than 80 bucks a year (includes g-gachas):

• Favorite 'must-have' limited servants from the entire JP release schedule (should only be a few of these - my only choices so far on this list are Gil, Jalter, Summer Moe [who I failed to get], Semiramis, Okitan, and possibly the soon to be released Caenis) - maximum 500 SQ + all your available tickets
• Limited servants that you really like and banners coincide with events - maximum 60 SQ + 10 tickets
• Limited servants that you really like but whose banners DON'T coincide with events - maximum 30 SQ + 5 tickets
• Your favorite non-limited servants whose banners coincide with events - maximum 30SQ + 5 tickets
• Everything else - tickets only

 

Very solid guide. And I do agree, sometimes spending tickets is vital to not go crazy with frustration, a better way to say what I meant was 'avoid yolo rolls on impulse or just because, even if youre still saving everything else'.

 

Did you apple? I didn't think it was worth it. I also didn't do the event the first time around, so took me 10 days or so of natural regen.
