    From reading the thread, looks like a workaround could be to log out and delete cookies, plus above disabling JS. Not ideal at all, though.

    Yeah, that works to remove the issue for the time being. What, if anything, has been said by the site admins? I see there is a bunch of angst and people upselling Ao3 because their admins wouldn't have allowed that to happen. Keep in mind if you disable JS, then it disables the formatting for the body text, so you might have to fix that with CSS.

    Code:
    #storytextp{
        max-width: 85%;
        text-align:justify;
        margin-left: 60px;
        margin-right:60px;

    }
    Not the best, but this works for the time being to keep it kind of centered, its not 3/4ths view, but it works. Run it through Stylus.

    There doesn't seem to be any response from the FF.net admins. No mentions of it on their blog anyway. I assume they're aware of the iddue and working on a solution but maybe that's just too optimistic.

    It's FFN admins, you expecting them to say anything?

    Glib remarks aside, it was Sunday yesterday. Day of rest and all that - if there is going to be a comment, it'll be later today.

    This has apparently been spreading for a number of weeks now, so don't hold your breath for a solution. I've added No-script to Chrome so I'm safe to browse but presumably to access the chapter upload features I'll have to disable No-script, which creates a bit of a problem.

    Yeah I'm not currently reading anything on FF.net so it doesn't bother me all that much but I have a chapter almost ready to go and I'd like it to be able to post it when the time comes.

    I'm now going through the AO3 version of VP, which I had always treated as the back-up version, and tidying up the formatting/replacing chapters where I performed post-publication edits. It's a bit of a chore (there's a lot of formatting to clear up due to the low quality of AO3's fic uploader) but if FF.Net is unusable then AO3 version is the primary version.

    From what I understand, you can still upload chapters safely. The infected portions of the website are only profile pages. You can disable noscript, upload your chapter, and then re-enable noscript. As long as you don't visit anybody else's profile page while noscript is disabled, then you should be fine.

    Tbh if the admins of FF.net are too lazy to do anything with allowing this shit then they don’t deserve your fic

    I probably wouldn't. Get you a epub reader and download the archive we have in the FF Discussion forum, its got the entire DLP library in there at this point, about 600 or so fics, or use Ao3 until FFN is cleaned up.

    The reddit thread linked in the OP says it's fine to rea if you're logged out. Just don't visit any profile pages. I'm still gonna look into downloading the Library archive instead. I ran CCleaner to clear my cookies and haven't logged back in at FFN, but fuck this, I'm not subjecting myself to having to tiptoe around FFN's shit staff.

    Critics United is a controversial group on FFN. They go around and comment on rule-breaking stories, often targeting MA content (which FFN rules don't allow) but other rules too. Many people hate them and see them as fun-hating busybodies. They were blamed for the MA content purge of 2012, even though everyone knows that no users can delete stories and any user can submit reports. They can come off as assholes in the comments they leave and I've no doubt there's some power-tripping involved, but honestly, they go after people posting porn or real-people fiction, shit like that. I don't write sex scenes so I don't give a fuck, and in my rather extensive browsing of their forums I've only ever seen illiterate 12 year olds getting pissed at them for reporting their porn. I say better CU than FFN's absentee staff. Although I do agree that they're busybodies.

    It seems that the hacker has a problem with CU and wants to stir shit up.

    A group of cuntish fanfiction writers who believe themselves to be better than most of the rabble on Fanfiction.net and campaign and bully people into taking their fics down if they're judged to be low quality. All adult women who exclusively write things like Draco in leather pants.

    Actually though. When I read the part about low quality bullying I thought Seratin was talking about us for a moment.

    But if DLP did report fanfiction, a lot of the slash on ff.net would be gone.
