Is DC's streaming service the only way to watch Titans?

The only fully legal way for someone in the US, yes. But if that doesn't bother you, it is already up on a dozen tv streaming sites.

Wait they released it on its own platform like they did StarTrek? What a fucking waste.

Yeah, I stopped pirating stuff years ago once things became easily accessible.

Damn, that feels like a bad decision, but maybe I just feel that way because it means I can't watch it. Ah well, they're just locking out another potential viewer, sucks for them.

While we're on a comic book bent, Daredevil S3 drops this Friday.

    Beyond Psyched for it.

And yeah. the Titans business model is just being poorly handled (like everything DC does). DC Universe is somehow supposed to compete with Netflix? Wtf. Its dumb and stupid and DC would have been better off giving this title to Netflix.

More like they're doing it to compete with the soon to be released Marvel corner of Disney Play. What all of these new streaming services fail to realize is that we reached subscription tv saturation several years ago. No one wants to pay for new hosts, so everyone is just once again pirating all their shit.

They're probably banking on convenience - I don't know about in the US, but in the UK none of the DC tv shows are on Netflix (other than, at some point, Titans), Arrow and most of the animated stuff is on Amazon, while Supergirl, Flash and Legends are available on Now TV. If you're a fan, and it's not too expensive, I can see the appeal, particularly given that it's not just the tv shows, but comics as well. Depending on how extensive that database is, that's potentially an excellent deal, vs individual purchases. It's definitely a gamble on DC's part, but I don't think it's a completely stupid one, in principal at least - then again, I don't know how much they're charging, and the original stuff they've shown so far hasn't looked great at all.

I did and I liked it for the most part. If it were longer though I don't think I would have.

Titans is steadily improving my opinion of the series. We will see how they handle Starfire/Beast Boy, but Robin/Raven has been on point.

I recommend Bodyguard -- it's a 6 episode miniseries about terrorism, politics, and all the cool shenanigans that come with it. Set in modern London. It stars Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark in GoT. I binged the whole thing in one go. This is my kind of show. If you like modern political/crime thrillers, check it out. It's on Netflix. Link to the Wikipedia page.

Second this, I also binged it.

I'm generally more a fan of Reacher type protagonists in this genre. Madden's character is anything but that, pretty much as far as you can be and still be a vet - I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

    I also second this.

It really is very, very good. I particularly enjoyed the questions (and, by extension, questioning) of ideology Bodyguard throws at the viewer through the characters and the constellations between them.

There was talk in the UK media that this was Madden‘s Bond audition, which automatically makes someone like me sit up and take notice, even though I have wondered for a while where the franchise might realistically go after 25 (but that is perhaps a story for a different day/year/thread). It is also noteworthy that much the same was said about Night Manager. It‘s the whole reason I watched it in the first place, back in the day. That, and Hugh Laurie.

To get back on topic, the creator of Bodyguard has hinted at the potential for more series. Needless to say, I‘d be down for that.

I'm not sure I'd buy him as Bond.

    Or Hiddlestone, tbh.

On that topic, I totally buy the oft-discussed Idris Elba as Bond. Hiddleston perhaps, but Madden doesn't have the undefinable X-factor presence that Bond needs. Otoh, I'd never heard of Craig before 2006 and he absolutely killed it in Casino Royale.

Episode 3 of Titans is out.

Huh...It's actually not that bad of a show. Enjoying it more than I do the CW heroe shows nowadays.

The inability to truly show batman (because batman can't be on TV for some reason) hurt this episode, but I've gotten over Starfire's outfit and really enjoying the story. Should be fun to see where this goes.

Still a 3.5/5 show, but its steadily getting better and the acting ain't that bad.
