    Seen them D:

Finished the first season of Sick Note last night. That was pretty funny, and it was refreshing to see Grint in a different role. He took to it with a casualness that I didn't expect. Becca's a cunt.

I'm gonna have to re-watch the first season of Legion, because I'm pretty sure I missed something and was pretty drunk by the time it finished.

Netflix announced Cowboy Bebop the live-action series. Considering how well the US adaptations of the anime usually fare, the only way they can get me excited about it is if they can get Yoko Kanno to make a new music for it.

Man, they're killing my entire visual history. They're just brutalizing everything. I'm gonna have to watch it just so I can bitch about how badly they fucked it up. Cowboy Bebop is my jam.

Someone on Netflix really hated anime all their life and is now in a position to do something about it.

Except it isn't going to be a Netflix show really.

Sunrise (original Bebop studio) announced they would be collaborating with Tomorrow Studios to do a live action Bebop for American audiences almost a year ago. Sunrise is still playing a huge production role, and Watanabe is consulting.

The only thing that has changed is that Netflix is now bankrolling the project so they can slap a "Netflix Original" tag on it.

BTW, don't waste your time on watching Scifi's new "Nightflyers" Scifi series which replaced "The Expanse".

Feels like a zombie of Event Horizon, Shining, 2001 and with hints of "Rendevouz with Rama" but 3rd rate actors and a script written by lobotomised monkeys ruin any potential despite the above average production quality.

Well that’s disappointing, I saw a few mentions of it and thought it looked really interesting.

That's a bummer. I still might check it out. Sci-fi enjoyment is subjective. Lots of people hated Altered Carbon, but I really liked it.

(Probably) Unpopular opinion: I'm seven episodes into Battlestar Galactica, a show I've never heard any of my friends do anything but rave about, and I just can't see what's so great about it. Does it pick up later, or is it just not going to resonate with me if it doesn't by this point?

You're watching the remake right? Original was more than a little dull imo.

Yeah, the 2004 version. Seems so heavy-handed and overdramatic.

I actually was alive for the original too and I loved it, but I was 7, so what did I know anyway.

Huh. Yeah not sure. Might've not aged as well without nostalgia, or just not be your cup of tea. I've rewatched it two or three times and loved it each one. It's influential enough that I'd give it the first season to see if you get hooked. You're over halfway through I think right?

Yeah, season 1 is apparently only 13 episodes. I'll force myself through it and see what happens.

It does pick up after the first season actually. And then it turns to utter shit in the final season.

I thought BG1 was "ok" for 2 seasons but calling it overdramatised is hard to dismiss. Season 3 it started to get ridiculous and 4 is just awful it took me years to fight through the episodes.

I really disliked the religious themes and increasing psycho nonsense. I thought the SF setting felt more and more like just a vehicle for the drama.

IMHO the Miniseries before the actual series was probably the best.

So overall I agree with the show being vastly overrated. But I definitely appreciated the raw style/tension it brought to the SF genre.

I thought Season 1 was amazing, personally. But tastes differ.

Bleached it from my mind. No idea what show you speak of.
