Just got back from Widows, which I highly recommend. Thrillingly tense throughout and wonderfully acted by all of the ridiculous cast list.

From what I can tell the "early viewings" that were being quoted were explicit parodies that got taken seriously. That might have changed in the time since though

From what I saw of it, the CG was on par with the Justice League fight against Steppenwolf. Which was fucking atrocious. As was the battle against Aries.

Den of Geek tweeted that it's fun, a decent intro to the character and setting, quite inventive in the first half but falls into the usual sort of second half pitfalls that lots of comic book films do. Not a full review yet, but they're pretty reliable for my money.

CGI looked bad in the trailer months ago, and after DC left this shit in the first live action JL movie ever, I doubt they'll make an effort for Khalaquaman.

I thought ME was interesting because of the Meta and the scenario. The plot isn't much to talk about.

IMHO it's the blockbuster version of "Snowpiercer"

Just got back from Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse.

    Great stuff.
Awesome animation/music, great story and good voice acting. The jokes were on point as were the more serious moments.

Everything about this movie was good.

Plus the best end credit scene in any movie I've seen.

I for one am looking forward to Adam McKay's 'Vice.' I loved The Big Short as a film, so a story about Dick Cheney and his rise to power will be super interesting to see.

I loved spiderman into the spiderverse. It deserves its rotten tomatoes score unreservedly.

It's the best animated film I've seen in a long time.

    Score - fantastic.

Plot? So much richer and more well constructed than expected. A really wholesome origin story that doesn't hold your hand. It knows you know spiderman and still delivers up surprises.

Visuals? Amazing animation style. I want some of that end credit sequence as posters. As an animation, the ferocity and the brutality you get in these super fights is beyond anything you can get in a live action MCU/DCEU film. And the aesthetic just works, the Lichtenstein comic panel dots don't detract from some of the gorgeous cityscape views or character close ups. Also, the use of colour in this film.

I'm excited for a sequel. You call tell the care that went into making this, and it's come out incredible. It's a five out of five from me, Cotton.

    This and so much more.

How did Sony Pictures, a team that's been fucking up Spidey for over a decade, not only make this masterpiece, but also made an animated movie just as good, if not superior to Pixar's best?

I hope, if nothing else, this inspires animators to ditch trying to get photorealistic with their cgi and go crazy. The sheer style this movie exudes is genuinely inspiring.

Gonna have to agree with the Into the Spider-Verse dick riding. It's just fantastic. For my money, it's the best comic movie of the last 10 years at least.

Man... I didn't expect Mortal Engines to be quite so awful. They must have spent 90% of the budget on the roving city effects and thought that would be good enough.

As everyone is saying, Spider-Verse is amazing and I want not just a sequel, but these announced spin-offs too.

Aquaman is entertaining with very good action scenes and that makes it a win for WB/DC.

The nicest thing I could say about that movie was - without knowing anything going in - it gave me very strong Dishonoured (the game) vibes in the beginning. Aesthetically, and tonally, I was impressed and excited...

Then it turned into a steaming turd, lol.
