You're on the wrong track. While it is a number based riddle, the answer isn't numerical. This is one of those "what am I" type riddles.

Ever so slightly off topic here as I don't have it in me to guess at any of the current riddles or offer any of my own. I thought the dismissal of the "gry" riddle seemed a bit curious, but nevertheless I figured some of you may appreciate the fic that utilizes that riddle, along with a whole bunch more of the most common ones. It's a Bones (tv show) fic, not Harry Potter, and offers something of a primer for newbies to the world of riddles.

You guys seem like your would be interested in this game

    Deathball.net

It gives you a picture, and looking at the picture/URL/anything, you have to get your way to the next picture. Quite complicated to begin with, but once you figure a few out, it gets easier.

You're correct about my riddle, and I came to the conclusion of Death/Destruction because of the cycle. Something needs to die to sprout new life, and something needs to be destroyed to create someting new. The easiest way to explain is that tower game where you remove a block at a time (you know it, I just don't know it's name). Each block stays in the same position, and that acts as it's life span so to soeak. You move one, so eventually you rebuild the entire tower when eventually one block dies and another lives to take it's place...

    Please tell me you understand.

And it fits with the protector/seed of new life.

^ I understand your conclusion and you're going about this the right way. However there is a key concept that you seem to have missed.

15 - 20 Is the max you can get on any 5 showing faces
    It always shows 5 sides
Total of all 6 numbers added together is 21 :D

    I got it :D:D:D

    I would say it's time.

As for the_caitiff's last one, I'd guess it was element's.

Possibly water? Though the elements is a good guess... I'm just picking at straws now :p.

That's "The Alchemist's Riddle" from the historical Nicholas Flamel, unfortunately he didn't give us an answer in the notebooks he left behind. The accepted answer from Boyle, Newton, Paracelcus, and Agrippa (later alchemists) is Imagination. Everyone has some but the educated or rich often discard it as childish and impractical. Kids based their games around it, and it's the last comfort fo the poor. Alchemists looking for the PS need it because the obvious methods don't work and they need to experiment.

The answer of a die was correct btw for exactly those reasons.

A die huh? I can honestly say that never crossed my mind. Kudos to Aekiel.
Still no correct answers for the "everting goes inside me" one.

    I have it!

Dango, the answer is Earth. Going along the same lines as my Death/Destruction idea, everything will eventually be Earth. PLants take life from the Earth and give it back once they die. Eartbh protests us from radiation from the sun (even if it actually the Ozone layer). And Earth will eventually kill it's inhabitants no matter how much you ignore that fact.

The only other answer I have is God.

^ I hate to rain on your parade (okay - that is a lie; I'm relishing it), but that is incorrect.
You can hardly describe the Earth (or God) as being "simplicity incarnate" - that is what most of these answers seem to be missing.

Due to recent responses, I believe another update is in order:

    Life, the universe; everything.
Everything goes inside me - simplicity incarnate.
I am the protector of new life.
But my fate is always the same:
    Shatter and Decay.

Anything goes inside me - simplicity incarnate.

    =======================================

Behold! A new Riddle has risen:

You have been drawn and quatered.
You are in checkmate, my good friend,
but there is not king in sight,
    no hierarchy here.
You have been drawn and quatered,
    Will you fight back?
Or perhaps you should join hands with those around you?
You have been drawn and quartered.

I think the answer to the first one is infinity. I'm probably not right.

    Anyways, here's my riddle.

You are walking down a road to get to a town.
While you are walking, you come to a fork in the road.
At this fork there are two old men.
One always tells the truth, the other always lies.
You no way of knowing which tells the truth, and which lies.
You don't know which fork will lead you to town, but the old men do.
You can ask one of the old men exactly one question.
Which question should you ask which old man in order to get to town.

    "Infinity" is incorrect.

    MrINBN:
    1. I'd say death, but this seems a little too obvious.
    2. This one is pretty vague. War? Incorrect spelling? A well trained surgeon?

MrINBN - would #1 be the letter E?

What can change a man? Lots of things... I've no idea. I'm guessing its another play of words, but I'm too tired to work it out right now.

My riddle (which is remarkably easy):

What can you put into a barrel that is visible to the naked eye, but will make the barrel lighter?

^ I think it is the same answer for both.

"what can change a man?" If you add "e" to the end you get "mane".
