I waited until Shadow was already at soft lynch. I initially put my vote on him partially because I had weird feelings in my head about letting him die, but also because I wanted to see if anyone tried to pile on because it would indicate scum hammering a mislynch.

Like, if Shadow got hammered and I could say to myself "x person voted at y time and it's the most suspicious, I know Shadow was a mislynch so that's potentially a witch" that would've been the goal.

I also could've waited until the last minute to claim it and force some chaos which would've been more fun, but I didn't wanna wait that long after I decided to switch tactics. I remembered that not only would Shadow not be able to protect Fonti efficiently, but also that the Undertaker would be able to reveal to the thread Shadow's alignment so I wouldn't be the only person who knew he was a mislynch. However, it was tempting because if the UT lied I'd have concrete evidence that they were a witch.

Idk. It was a big mess and I definitely didn't think it all through at every step along the way, but that's just a peek inside my head.

If we didn't lynch a witch day one and red check one night one, there's never a world in which I let my green peek die as Oracle.

Just a reminder that Tom cased me and Jari/Manasi/Shadow/Cobalt is his most likely exact world and his vote is still on Fluff because Fluff/Tom were proposed as the wagons today and they both snapvoted each other after I revealed.

From my experience faking an oracle claim, I think shadow manasi would have pushed cobalt a bit to sell their unalignment down the line.

It's not implausible, like there's a reason I brought it up, but I don't think it's the most likely explanation.

First of all, Cobalt has experience outing as an Oracle type role in this setup and knows it's not a ticket to endgame.

Second, the response to having one partner being redchecked the day after lynching another usually isn't "tie myself irrevocably to my last partner."

Third, if this was an actual witch plan, shadow would have come out guns blazing after the reveal. IMO we'd get a dance around the ring, a couple "I told you so," a few swipes at town for being bad, or if that's not his player type, then a really focused intent on solving. He'd want to show us that he had a new lease on life and was gonna actually drive the game. Instead he just kinda went "oh cool I guess I still have to play, womp womp." Like...

 

Uh? Newcomb, Shadow did exactly the former and he specifically didn't do the latter.

Ehhhh. I guess we can compromise that it's sort of a middle ground. Im aware he left after that post but that post still felt like the spirited rebirth, not a "meh I have to do stuff now". And his next post was a pretty firey attack on Tom so I felt he was keeping it up ish.
