I just basically meant that I only want the townclears' opinions on whether or not we should go ahead and that a "consensus" doesn't necessarily matter to me as much.

If one of Newcomb/Vaimes STRONGLY objects, I'd reconsider, but Newcomb's concerns I did my best to alleviate and Vaimes hasn't seen anything yet.

So I'm comfortable with just going ahead and asking for the claim, and overnight whoever hasn't caught up can catch up.

In a vacuum, yes, but I only hardclaimed Oracle after looking at claimed roles and deciding it was about 75-80% likely that Oracle was rolled into one of the five witch role slots.

I also assumed a town Oracle would see what I was doing and strongly consider a Shadow/Cobalt world before outing that I was lying. It's also possible the town Oracle had a greencheck on me which would've worked out spectacularly.

Either way, I didn't expect a counterclaim and if I had gotten one it would've most likely been from a witch, which is why they wouldn't.

 

Though I will say, for a witch to counterclaim oracle, they must have a clearly crumby progression on their peek, so if they a) threw it away and didn't consider having someone claim it or b) were considering having jari or manasi claim it, then it doesn't help the hypothetical final witch or tom to counter and have to pretend someone is their peek, hoping that their entire progression on that person fits. (see: you trying to claim a peek on someone whose progression clearly didn't fit lol)

 

I have words that would be amusing but I don't think I can say them ethically.

Yeah, I honestly was sweating the most when people were trying to put together how my peek was crumbed and if it even made sense.

I pulled some bullshit out of my ass to try and make my claim more solid for the sake of the gambit, but it took so much strength to not roll over and be like "yeah it doesn't make sense because he wasn't my peek lmfao"
