I am hoping that by some twist of fate that the dog is either still alive or it actually isn't Bill.

 

Nah, Bill's dead. Even though we don't want him dead (well at least I didn't!), if he were resurrected by Fate's weird movements, I'd lynch jbern for that. People coming back to life when they're supposed to be dead kinda ruins the plot of a story.

Imagine a story where everyone comes back.
"Ooo look at that! James and Lily are back from the dead! Is that Sirius? Wow! The veil released him!"

Just.. no.

And if it happens that Harry was "mistakened" or Chilotha made a mistake in killing him or whatever, it just turns into an easy way out for Harry to get up all his angsty anger and defeat the big bad guy.

By any means, I really liked this so far. I am, however, a bit worried about where this fic is going to head. Now that Bill's dead, who's going to lead the exploration? assuming that Harry wins, of course.

 

Well, the explorations purpose is to get the horcrux, and the statue apparently knows where that is.

 

Kaprice, we've already been introduced to the plotdevice necessary to keep Bill alive.
Bill won't be returned from the dead. I believe this has been planned for at least 4 chapters, possibly 6. The prework is already in place to make this another hideous Harryscrewup. Once again he's jumping into something without having all the available info.
Harry is learning loads of things in this story, and that includes using all assets. His rage is one of those assets, and everytime he's gotten into High Dudgeon he's made a quantum leap of some sort. Sheer dumb luck of course, but Jbern is setting up a BIG ol' shoe here. I love watching those drop.

At least i hope so. The interactions between Harry and Bill are part of this story's appeal, and i wholeheartedly love it. i just hope i can accurately foresee SOMEthing in this story. So far, i've failed every time. I still hope i'm right this time.

well technically it wasn't confirmed that the dog is Bill. Harry assumed it was and left before anyone could stop him. My theory is..... the dog was actually one of them golems made to look like Bill before that ass changed them all into dogs.

 

Chapter 21 is complete and with the Beta. As soon as she puts her chop on it, I'll put a tiny bit more in and post it. Until then enjoy chapter 3 of The Lie I've Lived.

Amen, and not just because we like Bill 'I am the decent' Weasely. Frankly if he comes back dead the rest of that 'should have been blonde' clan is gonna blame Harry.

Fluer would probably be more rational, but I still wouldn't want to see it. It could go so many ways.

That and I am still rooting for Harry to go back to England and nibble a pair of radishes off a particlular blonde's ears.

But it is jbern's job to make Harry suffer . . .

Actually this all begs a couple of questions on the inferi (forgive me if this is repeated):

1)How long do the wards take to produce an inferi?

2)Must the corpse remain within the wards for the duration of the process? ie Bill dies, Harry takes him home for the funeral and then inferi Bill jumps out of casket. chaos ensues (Now that would be a terror tactic. After a D.Eater attack during the funerals . . . BRAINS....BRAINS!!!!!)

3) Is it possible to curse/potion someone living to become an inferi when die?

4) Just for irony's sake will Harry find copy of the Zombie Survial Guide after this?

 

1. It got mentioned back when we first started running in real time (chapter 17/18?) again that the dead rose again after an hour.

4. If he does, he needs the tshirt to back it up. May I suggest this;

I like the new chapter Jim. Its good. But the demon is just cliche almost. Of course Harry was gonna live and of course Hes gonna kick the deamons ass somehow. It will be fun to watch the battle.

I just wonder how is England is gonna survive when Harry gets back. Cause between Dumbledore, Voldemort, and Harry thats alot of power not getting along.

 

Rocking chapter jbern. I especially liked the fight with Chilotha, it was very realistic. And Bill surviving... well, I personally didn't like it all that much, but it was certainly a well-planned idea. In my opinion, if Bill had died, then Harry would have had to deal with the Daemon along with Kwan, Thundercloud and Hack as the sole Curse breaker. That would give him a good challenge and an opportunity to use ingenuity over experience.

Still, no denying that this is yet another unconventional and delightfully captivating chapter. I really wish you update regularly. Its a treat to read this.

 

Since you mentioned it at the end, yeah looking back I can see the set up for Bill living. The armband, Bill mentioning that he always wanted to be an animagus, a few other little things... Sucks for Lauren though, she's going to be upset.

I really like the fight against Chilomort, another well done battle scene. The demon seems a bit cliche in it's appearance but then again so what. I liked it's little bit of prescient power, and a nod towards alternate realities.

DD is a dick as always but oh well. It will be most amusing to see Harry going back to England now. DD hasn't changed a bit, just shed the blame like water off a duck's back and keep piling on the bullshit.

 

I really do love this story. You add so many twists and turns I can never tell what's going to happen.

 

Alright. Nice work. Bill is alive? You had me fooled. Oh well. I did say that it's just the assumption of Harry that Bill is dead.
This story just keeps getting exciting with no stopping. I suggest you stop updating the other stories first to get this one over with. 5/5.
Btw, what happens to Harry/Fleur now?... Damn.
