God I love Star Wars Celebration.

    Trailer for season 7.

Always look forward to more Maul and Ahsoka and the animation has gotten a clear upgrade.

Looks really good. I enjoyed the original clone wars show more than any of the movies, so I have high hopes for this. Plus, some more Tano backstory for my SW/HP fic is always welcome.

Never watched it in full, but that trailer looks great. Might have to binge it in the near future.

Protip: They are very few and far between, but you can safely skip every single episode featuring Jar Jar in any significant way. They are never truly plot relevant, and if you find yourself lost, you can just read any 100 word episode recap.

Basicaly Lucas acknowledging he was just a walking meme.

I'd suggest watching all those "Honorable Mentions" too. As for season six, I think there's only one or two skippable ones.

I know it'd never happen, but I really wish we could get a Clone Wars-style Revenge of the Sith remake to cap it off.

I don't get how mortis can just be "honorable mention."

That stuff seriously influence current star wars lore.

I thought it was pretty dumb and probably wouldn't care to watch it again on a repeat viewing. Also that guide was written quite a while ago.

I agree. Not a stellar list. Mortis is really the singular most important Clone Wars storyline (except for maybe the yoda force priestess stuff). It's what Disney built their new concepts of force balance and the chosen one on, and it has massive importance to Rebels.

... So is it recommended that I actually skip so much? I was planning on watching all of them tbh, are some of them so bad you're better off just not?

No, I would just go through in order and whenever you feel like you're totally disinterested in the plot of the filler episodes, just read a summary instead.

You will quickly be able to parse out what is and isn't filler.

Well, as 'meh' as the Martez Sisters arc was, the finale arc is legit excellent. The Maul v Ahsoka fight is going up there with Opress/Maul v Palpatine and Yoda v DreamPalps.

I'm glad to hear. the Martez thing made me stop watching. I'll def watch the last arc if it's actually worth the time.

Last part of the finale dropped for Star Wars day. The finale arc is definitely among some of the better stuff to ever come out of Star Wars. Not the absolute best, but up there.

I was hoping for a little more at the end; something to frame new post-Order66 plot points for Maul/Vader/Mandalore/Ahsoka/Rex which could be explored in other media. Instead, we got a firm closing note to the series and to the Clone War on the whole. Basically Lucasfilm saying, "We're done with this, moving on."

All that said, the final minutes of the episode were so fucking choice. Cinematic, beautiful, and emotional, and all without a single word spoken.

Morai flying overhead as Vader held Ahsoka's saber, with the snowy wreckage of the carrier looming in the background... goddamn.

A truly savage mic drop on every other Star Wars director.

Also, can anyone recognize the killer intro music for part 4? I can't quite place it. Is it some theme used elsewhere in Star Wars?

Edit: NVM. Remix of Padme's funeral theme. Thank you reddit. Also, that is fitting af. Good choice, Kevin Kiner.

Not sure if I should start a new thread, but the Bad Batch Clone Wars spin off started today and the first episode was really pretty good. Lots of decent albeit somewhat tired military drama notes, and I really like the idea of-

-a female Jango clone. Who wants to bet Omega is going to show up in Mando/Ahsoka/Rangers of the New Republic? She absolutely reeks of new marketing ploy.

I still feel like the Bad Batchers themselves are way way way too 1-note, but I'm definitely excited to get a new glimpse at the Rise of the Empire period.

You know, I thought the same thing about Sabine too when Rebels came out, but bringing Ahsoka back pretty much drowned her out comparatively. Maybe Omega and Fennec will be commercialized a bit more.
