IW and Endgame were all about the Snap. The next phase of the MCU will also feature a gesture. The hand wave.

The more I think about it...the more I dislike Spider-man being the -next- movie. If he was dealing with the world and repercussions of the return then I'd be more on board.

But he's literally going on vacation to England. Wtf.

I can see them pushing a "let's all just try to move past the bad and embrace the good, now have this vacation/school trip" angle.

    Peter gets to England.

Theresa May was snapped as was most of parliament. The queen and royal family weren't.

Britain is now a full monarchy again.

    Brexit never happened.

The EU is now ruled by Britain.

    All hail Britannia.

Just saw endgame. Time travel was sort of confusing, I thought it was Harry Potter style time travel.

Movie was good but not up to Infinity Wars. Didn't like the scene where Thor's hammer is summoned by captain america; I didn't like that twitching moment in ultron too.

I expected redemption for Hulk, but they went and made him a joke. I feel scarlet witch has been overpowered in all of the movies that have featured her so far.

Captain Marvel was extremely confusing as a character.

I hated what they did to Thor and the Asgardians. They went from being their own species to being stereotypes of rural human folk.

The time travel really puts a dent in my liking of it. I don't get it, and I don't think it's really that consistent. I prefer when writers use stable time loops, like the first Terminator, rather than all this branching timeline nonsense.

I have a lot of small issues, but I think I have to watch it again to document them all. But the biggest ones I think are us not seeing this synthesis between the Hulk and Banner, Bucky not inheriting the shield at the end, and making Thor fat and then joking about it the whole movie.

I think Infinity War was pretty great and a much more well put together movie. This one I'd still say earns a thumbs up, but it's kind of held together with duct tape.

On the Thor issue, the jokes actually were a big (no pun intended) hit with both audiences I was a part of. His lightning transformation before the battle (well-groomed beard and all) got the biggest cheers, though.

All of that being said, I think he’ll be back to somewhere close to his old self by the time the next GotG film comes around. The joke has run its course.

Endgame was a vastly better movie than infinity War, which probably rated like a 4/10 from me. I'd give this one a 7 based on gut feeling. I think they probably could have left a fair bit more on the cutting room floor, but meh. It did the job. Probably ekes it's way into the top 10 mcu films for me.

Don't think about the time travel.

The mechanics of it is so dumb it started ruining the movie for me.

The time travel was full of blatant, awful plot holes. That said, highly enjoyed my first viewing. Fat Thor and Bruce!Hulk were delightful. Chris Hemsworth was clearly having the time of his life.

Seeing as I haven't really seen him in any interviews, they did make Hemsworth wear a fatsuit, right? Or did he have to fatten up naturally for his role?

Just saw it a couple hours ago.

Motherfucker, that was a lot to take in.

I'm emotionally spent. I'd heard going in that it was a more character-driven movie and less explode-y than IW, and it wasn't a lie. It was full of the humour and emotional beats I've come to expect. (Some folks hate the MCU for becoming rote - I love it for the same reason. I know, on some level, going in, what to expect.) Except, I didn't know what to expect with IW. And I managed to dodge spoilers for this one, so I didn't quite know what to expect here, either.

At least, not in terms of the story itself. Pretty much anyone who's heard a theory or watched a Youtube video in the last year probably saw time travel coming, and I enjoyed that device - yes, it kind of falls apart the longer it goes on. I mean, did Cap seriously just sit out history and stay away from all cameras for 60 years, or are there multiple timelines involved? And if Tony dusted the 2014 version of Thanos and his merry band of assholes, how could they have done what they did in 2018?

To those people I say: Who gives a fuck?

To borrow a turn of phrase from Daredevil, the only important thing about a piece of art is how it makes you feel. And brother, this fucker made me feel. It was by far the single most satisfying movie I have seen in years. I laughed, I cheered, I was anxious and confused, and couldn't sit still in my seat and I cried. I cried like a 4 year old with a scraped knee.

Quibbles with the science and the consequences and questions about how the stories will go forward? Sure. But the films ain't over and the coming shows and even Agent of SHIELD will presumably fill in some blanks, so I'm not focusing on any of that.

This movie was a payoff of a 10 year investment. A lot of life happens in 10 years. I don't live in the same house - hell, I don't live in the same city, I don't have the same job, I don't even have all the same friends, and I've buried far too many people since these movies started. But all that life came with me and made me who I am today. And these characters - these people - changed, too. We've watched them change, grow (mostly figuratively, literally in a couple cases) over that time and reach what Tony told us in the first trailers we have to reach in this journey - The End.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Favourite parts included Morgan, Fat!Thor - I will not apologise for that - Clint and Nat off on one last mission together, Cap on Cap violence, Loki being Loki, all the cameos (did not expect The Redford back), Tony getting a hug in with his old man, Cap using Mjolnir (and Thor's overjoyed reaction), Cap standing alone against the entire army with a broken shield and a broken arm and keeping his back straight, the big entrance and cap finally getting telling the Avengers to Assemble, and Tony's final sacrifice.

    Moments I didn't like?

Doesn't matter. They won't stick with me.

I'm making a point of seeing this one again in the theater. Last time I did that was Winter Soldier. I think Endgame is my new MCU #1.

Solid #2 for me, don't think anything is ever going to overtake Winter Soldier, but we're going again next Sunday, so we'll see what happens.

So. I have no issue with the time travel at all.

Everyone's (random people on the net) acting like having multiple timelines due to any difference at all is the issue, but.. that was never the case? We have the main timeline. They created several new timelines.

    e.g

-One without Thanos or Ronan the Destroyer.

-One where Loki escaped with the Tesseract. <- Going to be the Loki TV series.

-One where Cap' lived out his life, before returning - this is the one that makes no sense.

The Ancient One's warnings were specific toward the Time Stone, or that's the impression I got. e.g taking the Time Stone would fuck that timeline because of Dormamu. There was never a 'preserve the timeline exactly as it is' threat. It was always about making sure cosmic level shit was where it needed to be for when it needed to be.
