Game of thrones had the best actors of any tv series ever. I stand by that.

The problem I see here is that you're applying logic and reason to it, whereas I doubt D&D put any more thought into it than asking what would look pretty on screen.

Also, weather can be crazy. I was putting up with snow Tuesday, while tomorrow it's going to be hot and sunny. And that's in a world without crazy weather-altering snow demons or messed up seasons like Westeros has. Getting a fuckton of snow out of nowhere, only for it all to be gone in a week is some that's happened to me three times this winter/spring.

It makes sense for it all to be ash, but the white stuff we see on screen looks and acts a whole lot more like snow. Considering the strange form of laziness we've seen from most of the season, I wouldn't put it past them to film the whole scene in the snow, and then just say "Oh yeah, that was totally ash." It would fit for the same season where they don't even bother to take starbucks cups or plastic water bottles out of the frame before filming.

    -----

As far as casting for fAegon goes, I'd vote for someone young and charismatic. Maybe go for a bit of an Alexander the Great sort of vibe. Someone who can still pass for 18-19, and has the force of personality where you could believe him winning over the Golden Company to his cause.

Well before it became clear he was cut, I thought Bradley James - who played Arthur in Merlin - would've done a decent job. He'd have been a little too old for the role, probably, but you could have said the same about Kit Harrington as Jon or Natalie Dormer as Margaery. I wanted Tony Curran or John Simm for JonCon.

(F)Aegon to me would be Nicholas Hoult in a white-blond wig. Maybe still too old?

Just realized no one ever commented on Littlefinger's death. You'd think it would've come up tbh.

I'm astounded Emilia Clarke could remember her lines. You don't fuck with brain aneurysms and having two so young is debilitating. I hope she finds the good health she needs, but I wouldn't expect her to keep acting in major stressful productions like this in the future.

In her essay she describes the constant feeling of impending doom she felt. She had to wear the Dany wig with the bald cap. Working in the intense heat after having brain surgery is commendable and extremely brave.

I'm not attempting to reduce the impact of her condition or the fact that she had the fortitude to work despite it BUT the show was paying her alot of money, and alot Professionals(in most industries) would still go to work if they had a similar experience.

I don't even know what my point here is, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that you would probably do the same if the factors were similar. I.e: It was a really well-paying job, you loved it and were good at it.

Maybe. But honestly, the fact remains that she did work despite her condition, and she did a darn good job of it. A bunch of fans wish to show their appreciation of her acting and want to make it obvious that the vitriol directed towards the last season is for DnD specifically. This is, to be honest, the best way in which it could have been shown. I don't think there's any possible way in which one could make this out to be negative or be a cynic about it.

Plus it must be pointed out, she likely had made enough money by that point that she didn't actually have to continue working. Everybody would have understood if she had bowed out due to something as serious as that.

Other people continue working sure, but usually because they don't have the option to retire onto their piles of money. She kept going when it was hard as hell and she had no need too. That is pretty commendable.
