Holy shit, that looks amazing. Has the Rogue One feel to it, and I mean that in the best way possible.

 

I'll just say this: I watch SW for lightsabers, not for the guns.

Guess I'll wait for some reviews and see if Pedro Pascal runs into Force users in the show.

 

Revivng this thread because the trailer is out.

The look is polished, but somewhat dirty, which I like. Landscape shots look gorgeous as well.

I'm cautious....but interested.

The main new trilogy has done nothing to hype me and I'm trying to put star wars behind me after what they did to Luke. This epic trailler...doesn't make that easy even if, like Scott I prefer my star wars protagonists with glowy swords and space magic.

 

To me, Jedi and the Force are the least interesting bits of Star Wars, so I'm very much into the whole thing, and that trailer tells me I'm definitely gonna like at least the tone and visual style they're going for. I'm not sure if I'm into it enough to pay for Disney+ or whatever, but I'm definitely intrigued by this show.

 

This cast is insane and I love Favreau. I can't wait for this. IG-88!

The Obi-Wan-In-Exile TV show with Ewan McGregor is finally happening too. I'm not as hyped up for the tv show about Cassian Andor though, but I'll give it a shot.

At least they went for the daring approach of an original character instead of Biggs Darklighter: An X-Wing Story.

 

Have they confirmed that? Everything I've seen just calls him "the mandalorian", don't think they've ever given him a name. I am very much afraid there's gonna be a JJ Abrams style "twist" where it's revealed in the last episode that the main character is totally Boba Fett's son or something. It's one of my bigger concerns about the show, and I really hope they have enough confidence in their creation to not bog it down with that kind of nonsense.

 

I have no idea, I just assumed. Obviously he looks similar to the Fetts but the mask, AFAIK, is a mandalorian thing rather than a Fett thing. Jango Fett was the template for the Clones and Boba Fett was his kid. Boba was an adult at the time of the OT. I guess The Mandalorian could be Jajaybrams'd into being Boba's son but that would be boring (so totally possible) and it would depend on exactly how long post-Empire's fall the show is set. Pedro Pascal is around 40, so I can't see him playing the character like he's on the very young side.

 

I love Pedro Pascal, so I'll likely watch anything he's in.

I'm not sure I trust Disney not to do that J.J style twist though. Despite taking place in an entire galaxy, SW just always seems tiny in scope. Everyone is always connected and we go to the same places all the time (or, tbf, fans riot. I never understood why people hated the casino planet - unless the hate was because that entire segment of the movie was completely unnecessary...)

 

The thing that most excites me is that they're bringing in Dave Filoni to direct two episodes, despite the fact that he's "the animation guy". This makes me think we'll get a lot of Clone Wars / Rebels Mandalore centric background (live action Darksaber please and thank you).

 

To be honest, I was hoping for some sort of Game of Thrones-esque thing set in the past hinted at in Rebels/Clone Wars.

 

Best part of the trailer was the spinny IG droid.

 

I'm always a fan of a droid's realistic advantages letting them mow down sentients in a fight.
