    Because I was the person he was saying you are correct to. I'd rather keep the focus on the game then getting bogged down in confusion as to what a shit post meant...also Cerber is one of the only people I somewhat know here in this game sooooo its less buddying and more "Hey someone I can talk to and not be completely off putting/awkward/abrasive to as the game gets going"

    Not feeling good on Tom...never a fan of saying "I think this person is town/scum but won't explain why that we see in

    And also find it scummy that he put a random vote on Jari and ignored this...

    and instead switched his vote off to mendell who accused his unexplained vote on Jari as being bandwagoning

    The game!

    I feel like I should've gotten something off some of the kerfuffle but I didn't. Planning on microscoping more later if I'm feeling lost. I have some more reads but I don't want to share them yet.
    @CerberAsta could you explain or reword what you didn't like about Keldeo? I'm not quite following.

    Yay forums back. Reading my old games...so when did encoding/crumbing become a no-no on DLP mafia?

    Did you actually talk to me? Because I don't recognize you. If you want to see how I do with a group of strangers, read qualifier 4, but that was actually a high pressure game, and it feels like it was a long time ago now.

    You know I hate it when people joke-claim scum?
    It introduces confusion and ambiguity and is not a good move as town.

    Come on, that's all you got?

    Crumbing should be fine?

    I wished @Cobalt was a bit more into the game. Me correcting their 36% to 40% left them completely unfazed, despite the mention. Did you expect the game to be slower than it already is?

    You're keeping up with game, why would this be directed at you? It wasn't.

    I don't understand what @his fluffiness is doing.

    @Jarizok seems to be part of a tradition where players vote him and he ignores it? Like, he's giving me a "low-hanging fruit" vibe, his responses kinda low-confidence, and I feel that he'd make a good scum push (which, in this game, doesn't even rule out him actually being the other kind of scum).

    Empoof is VERY vaguely trying to solve? Like, I read Empoof mostly as strictly controlling his tone, which is NAI (not alignment indicative) leaning on scummy.

    Word of advice? You're new to the game, you're not going to solve it in your head, and you'll be wrong a lot and change your mind a lot and be insecure a lot. That's just how this game works, even for people who have been playing it more. If you're mafia, you are already getting advice from your teammate, and you can skip what I'm about to say. But if you're town, the best thing you can do for us is to make yourself readable, and that means sharing as much of your thoughts, impressions, and gut feelings as you can. Just take five minutes and write down your thoughts and impressions of the game so far. They don't have to be correct, they just have to be yours.
    If you have more time, go through the player list, and consider everyone. Do you have an impression of them? What kind of person are they? How do they feel for you? Does anything stand out?
    Write!
    You don't get judged on style, or correctness, but you get judged on being here and focusing on the game!
    If you don't play, it won't be fun!

    So, how many scum do you need to find? Two or four? :p

    EBWOP should have mentioned @Empoof since I was talking about you without quoting you

    I noticed, but that’s not a correction. It’s 4/11, not 4/10. I did the math before posting the 36% in my first post.

    I will be getting more into the game, I’ve just been a bit busy. I planned on sitting down and really catching up early this morning, but the forum was down.

    Confusion is all since it was after my quote in your post and your the mentioning of cobalt seemed more a lament than a direct statement ( "I wish cobalt was more into the game" vs "Cobalt I wish you were more into the game"). Wasn't sure if you were making conversation

    @Tammy ok, now I read *your* specchat log, and getting scared that I'll never catch you if you're scum ("learnt to express emotions as scum")
    your take on LLD (knows when to kill people before they turn on her) was prescient

    @TerRaine
    @tom

    Alright looking over the list of folks so far.

    Colbat has been fairly inactive but also fairly innocuous-- I feel like scum would be more likely to drive in and throw some accusations around in order to get the game properly moving.

    Empoof has been very active but hasn't been really throwing stuff around. Likely town.

    His Fluffiness has been kinda active but fairly brief. 50/50

    Jarizok has posted a couple times but hasn't actively responded to accusations of scum. Not sure! He could be dodging the votes in order to just not draw attention as scum or could just not have a really solid way to fight it back. 75/25 in favor of scum

    Keldeo immediately threw out Empoof as likely town, which could have just been an early gut feeling based on experience or could have been Keldeo being Empoof's partner and they're both scum! Other interactions don't necessarily point to scum. 50/50

    Sloth is proving a little difficult rn. 50/50

    Mendel gave me this advice outright and I feel like scum would want new players to lie low and not throw out too much but also they might just want the game to be challenging and fun, but for now I'm gonna lean town

    Tammy came out strong and has been posting mostly to get the game rolling. 50/50

    TerRaine has bandied about and engaged in fun banter, mostly jokes and deflecting early confusion. 75/25 in favor of town

    Hard to get a read on Tom, gut says possibly scum in light of how many I feel are more likely to be town at this juncture. (ie There's four scum and I'm currently only vaguely inclined to identify two)

    In light of this

    Unvote Keldeo
    Vote Jazirok

    D1 seems to be a time where a lot of us will be busy based on initial posts...might explain the quietness.
    @Eidolonic btw, given that the site was down for who-knows-how-long, will we can get an extension on the Day?

    To clarify: Have you and @Empoof played together before? Even outside of DLP.

    Interesting. Yet you haven't pressed him?
    @tom she raises a good point though - see my question in my earlier post.

    so far that's all I got.
    "Expect the game to be slower that it already is" - what is your impression on this game so far then?
    Can you walk me through this thought?

    @Jarizok hey, you were in the tournament in April right? How'd that go.

    @CerberAsta In a game like this, what would you consider the biggest threat to town?

    Still waiting on replies from fluff and tom.

    @CerberAsta

    Your strongest scum read is Jarizok for not responding to scum reads....Sloth pretty much accused you and I of buddying...and you ignored it. In fact ya went on to all but early read clear me (or at least list me as your strongest town read) for weak reasons that ignore the fact I totally pissed someone off....the opposite of bandying and fun banter.

    Me thinks you're playing into this buddying idea to clear yourself if I get lynched and flip town. I'm not a fan of that. Its not very towny

    @CerberAsta that's a nice reads list! I don't agree with everything, but that's ok.
    How did you arrive at the thought that scum would be "more likely to dive in and throw accusations around to get the game moving"?

    I don't really have a good feeling yet of what to expect of most players.
    Based on how rarely mafia got played here recently, I definitely expected a lower level of play than I am seeing.
    I'm still uncertain if/how we're going to get 6 players behind the same vote.

    Like, he's giving me a "low-hanging fruit" vibe, his responses kinda low-confidence, and I feel that he'd make a good scum push (which, in this game, doesn't even rule out him actually being the other kind of scum).

    Ok, I don't think there is much to walk through? He feels like a person who metaphorically avoids eye contact as they're engaging with you (no offense intended!), like you could push him to get lynched regardless of whether he's town or scum; that makes him LHF. If that impression is true (and you guys know him better than I do), then mafia would usually want to push him to achieve a town mislynch, and in a normal game, seeing this happen would be a strong indication that he's town. In this game, however, he could still be on the one mafia team while the other is pushing him, so I dunno.
    The evidence in favor of this being a LHF push is also that I don't really see anyone pushing Jarizok with conviction, it's just something that people do. As an outsider, it's kinda weirding me out, because to me it looks like you guys are seeing something that escapes me, that I'm not privy to; and as a result, I am distrustful of the motivations here.
    Am I making sense?

    Ya know what, that's a fair assessment. I had to skim a little and missed some of the more heated nuances and lightly called it banter rather than folks getting actually aggravated. Kinda missed the buddying accusation, but with that in mind I think I'll re-evaluated Sloth as way more leaning into the Scum side of things, since it's p clear he's stirring things.

    @his fluffiness, Sloth is asking you what you think about him just immediately Voting TerRaine.

    I have no opinion on it tbh. I don't see how his vote was any different from a normal RVS vote.

    I've had this conversation a lot more than I should have, don't really mind if you think it causes confusion and ambiguity. I seem to be getting widely town read anyways ;)

    Liking CerberAsta, I have a sick read that they're never partners with Mendel since they would've felt self-conscious about not putting a ratio for them while sandwiching Mendel between a lot of ratio having reads.

    Yeah Tammy and I have played together on MTGS during the team game thing. Was pretty fun. Also very quickly read her town there.

    I don't remember if she was in the other game on DLP that I played but I don't think so.
