Just heard some depressing news which has me feeling a little distracted, so if I'm not firing on all cylinders, sorry.

Sloth - I don't want to cut down that whole wall, but you asked me about Terrain, and yeah we clashed at the beginning of the game. That part was not inoffensive and fun-loving ha! But I'm thinking about other little interactions she's had. I mentioned a few of them in one of my earlier posts the other night, so no not ones interacting with me specifically but with others where the responses are lightly snarky that I liked, but none of which are alignment indicative really when looking back, but just generally likeable. Does that make sense?

I think you're scum, you think I'm scum, so there's probably not much to discuss between us, yes.

Mendel - I'm responding to your post 268 here. I'm not going to quote that post to respond to, sorry, so I'll just post the headlines basically:

Regarding Terr - What about her responses felt good?

Regarding Tom - I'm not confident on Tom's alignment no. I'm sorry I want to say more about this but my mind's just not here with the game right now. I know I don't want to lynch him today though, so I can revisit this and talk to you about this tomorrow.

Regarding Sloth - This is a tough one because there are some parts of Sloth's play that read really scummy to me, and then there are little parts that feel townie. His style is one that is hard for me to get a handle on because the quote striper style sits in my blind spot, so I've looked to other little things and his explanations for his reads and the like and there are moments that feel decently town. Some of the things you're hung up on don't feel really alignment indicative and feel like a style clash. I don't think he's dominating the game because of all the questions - he's not directing the game through it so it's not quite dominated. I don't think it's scummy that he's misusing terminology, I'm not sure you do either but it seems that way?, terminology has changed quite a bit over the years, so yeah. I'm not completely opposed to a sloth day one lynch but he, I'd planned on talking a little more about this read and my thoughts here but my brain's kinda a void at the moment.

I kinda really want to lynch cobalt but if he's town it's a useless lynch because we'll literally be in the same position as today. But I've just kinda hated his pop-ins, especially the one today. He didn't even stick around to see if anyone gave him a case on fluff, just pop in dip. And while I know cobalt is prone to some day one lurking, it feels weird that it's literally an entire day of lurking when he seemed happy a game was starting here. And I kind of thought if he was town, after the fiasco of last game, he'd be out to prove himself here. so the literal doing nothing concerns me.

Can you point me to the vile part? I looked for my name and didn't read anything else. What part should I look at?

Men are you in a sloth of NL mindset here or is there anyone else you'd be willing to consider out of your scum reads

My case on Sloth in a nutrshell: Sloth's playstyle fits the optimal scum play to a T, his aksing "random" quations and dropping threads and, to my eye, failing to actually inquire or actually thinking about the threads he says he's thinking about, makes him a very likely scum whom, if we believe his style, we can only ever townread if his methods actually deliver scum lynches -- and in this setup, that doesn't even clear him!
The question "what do we do if TerRaine flips town" was NOT directed at you, Sloth, it was directed at everybody else: in my mind, your credibility rests on TerRaine flipping scum. If TerRaine flips town, are you ready to get lynched the next day?
Or are you ready to adopt a more transparent playstyle, whcih a) itÄs a bit late, and b) I don't think you will?

The way he misunderstands my points makes my skin crawl.

I still want @Empoof to tell me if he's seen Sloth play mafia, or be on a mafia team with him.

My preference order for wagons already started probably looks something like:

    Jarizok/Sloth/Fluffy-Terraine

    Not interested in Keldeo today

I think this is empoof and Sloth's first game together?

"criticism disguised as pointed questions" -- I see that as introducing statements into the thread narfrative as implied assumptions in questions, which makes them less likely to be openly discussed and more likely to be accepted

the same with teh "devil's advocate", he introduces a thought that will stick in your mind, but since he labels itz thus, he is distancing himself from taking responsibility for it. This is psych 101.

His reads are shit, He has been tunneling on Terraine since post 1, he has NO other independent scum reads, but he says he's not tunneling.

I'm not lo9oking at the same kind of tone. I am looking at, is he trying to understand? is he trying to cooperate? or is he instead pushing shade, putting pressure, pushing his bias (if town) or agenda (if scum)?
And that's what is antagonistic about him. He could've asked him about my thoughts on Jarizok, but he makes it a gun-to-head when a post earlier I wrote I don't yet have a handle on most players. He is putting me on the spot instead fo finding out where my mind is at, and that is an antagonistic way of approaching me. It doesn't matter what his emotional tone is, the things he's asking are antagonistic.

YEs, but it is. He's not interested in why y0ou are asking about the "turnaround", he is intersted in proving you wrong somehow. He doesn't explain, he defends and accuses. And he's not budged on his Empoof read when it was pointed out in his past-halfday-wall that it ought to not be stuck at zero.

in an nutshell, low hanging fruit.
I think he's written about as much as you, text-wise? but less actual standpoints to nail him down on
if you can tell his alignment from that, you're a much better player than I am.
The same goes for fluffi and cobalt.
