Starting with cobalt, one of the 3 slots i found no reason to townread (cobalt/jari/keldeo) with my night 1/early d2 reread.

Of those:
Keldeo hammered sloth
Jari wasnt here at eod
Cobalt popped in to ask about lynching fluff

Vaimes comes in. Does nothing special really. Sloth partner poe isnt terrible but its not very thoughtful/deep.
Kneejerk "there must be scum on my wagon" is probably nai. Doubling down on it making me scum/shading mendel too is super forced though.
Terrain push has... ok sure a little depth to the read, even if its real silly when reduced to its components. But even with the depth i still dont think its a thing thats alignment indicative? Or matters?
Havent cared a whole lot about rest of his posts. Im not finding him actively scummy but he aint redeeming his slot either.

Yeah I think I agree with the point that for Sloth to be like "well if you scumread me for this, look at this guy!" is less likely to be partners. It's still weird for him to have put Empoof in nulls rather than scum with the strength of this wording, yeah. But I don't think that weird indicates positively that they're partners.

I think... maybe he just wanted his scum tier to be the people he wanted to tie as a team? Because if you look at the fine print of that long reads post, he basically only had one scumread, TerRaine, since he said Jari would have been null if not for associatives with Ter.

So what does that mean for Jari? I still think it's telling that he stayed on Ter as kind of a vanity wagon and didn't switch to Jari even when that wagon was higher. A contradiction between what he said was the strength of the read (if he really thought Ter was lock mafia and Jari was >rand to be a partner, that means he sees Jari as scummy, not just "null") / how he acts on it.

I think I'm more on Ter/Sloth not w/w now but I'm not really seeing how this makes her town to you. From what I looked at of this segment you're talking about I feel like her opinion on how voting should be used and like what is an acceptable thing to push someone for would be the same no matter her alignment, if that makes sense.

I think I'm starting to confbias Jari. Maybe have been for a while. But I look back over the weird-lacking-inconsistent-ginger interactions between Sloth and Jari and they still seem sound to me.

Would appreciate more discussion or counterpoints of my case, or if people have more compelling cases on someone else that they want to try to sell me on. (gonna look into Cobalt/Vaimes case as I keep going over things but at first blush didn't find it super compelling.)

@Empoof would you mind going more into depth on the "Jari would be more like a car salesman as mafia" read? I hopped into his S5G5 ISO and didn't notice a tonal difference to here.

I think this is a pretty lackluster post about Sloth's death actually.

This is hard to articulate and idk why. I just have a feeling that if he were town, and mafia got lynched in the first day of his very first game, it might read differently.

It just feels flat. It's a very measured, objective description of what happened yesterday, like "well, I was right that he had it coming, shrug", and then what he's going to do next.

Oh yeah also since Jari answered. My terrain read was because of the places where Sloth was kind of piggybacking off or validating her shade of someone in order to shade them too, which some people mentioned as a town tell but in this setup, the only person he'd know is trustworthy/genuine in their pushing is his partner. But in the end the reasons they're like probably not together just keep adding up. I definitely don't think I'm at absolutely not partners or to the level of like Mendel in that list and outside of the partner context I still am not super impressed by the towniness of her posting in a vacuum so like... idk.

tbh I don't think the mafia are really trying to kill the other team yet, since they're like another anti-town KP. So I don't think this helps in the scumhunting right now sense since a mafia would probably not be hard townreading someone they locked as town last night or anything, but I guess it depends a lot on who it was.

I think if I have time I am gonna ISO Cerber because I'm just not processing this conversation about his reads changing. I want to suspect his inability to really elucidate his thought process but I don't really see rn why he wouldn't be able to do that as mafia either.

I think Mendel's 641 was a good/I-want-to-TR-this observation I think mostly because it seemed like a very unprompted investigation that made a good point.

Sloth and Ter are good IRL friends, I think, and I’m running with the assumption that if they somehow managed to roll scum together they would actually be inclined to work together.
