Who is and why are they your favorites in standup comedy. Hopefully we can all discover some people that we haven't heard. Don't bore me with "the classics" like Carlin and Eddie Murphey, this is an attempt to discover new material from people that are currently popular or have been popular in the past.

Tom Segura is my latest favorite. I haven't ever really looked at his stuff, but I seen a lot of his shit on YouTube. One of my favorite skits, among many, is his reaction to his Doctor Visit.

I like his delivery and his casual demeanor in which he delivers. He has a good control of the crowd and doesn't feel like he's trying to pander to everyone to make them laugh. Whether they're fabricated or not, his stories are funny and something I can get behind.

I'm usually really not into humor/comedy in general.

I've really enjoyed a lot of UK comedy over the last few years.

Jimmy Carr has a lot of great stuff, but this just kills me:

I love John Mulaney. All of his specials are great, but New in Town is one of the few specials ive probably seen like a dozen times that’ll still make me laugh.

    James Acaster is brilliant.

His stuff on Mock the Week was usually really good, and he has a Netflix special as well.

Sarah Millican is always a hoot, and the extreme Newcastle accent makes it even better.

I liked Patton Oswalt's netflix special, Annihilation. Lot of it is more poignant than outright funny because that was his first show after losing his wife but I found it touching.

Dylan Moran, best known from Black Books, remains one of my faves.

Fern Brady hasn't done a lot so far, but I find her pretty funny. And hot. And I love her voice.

I watch a lot of comedians, but mostly on panel shows and the like, which isn't quite the same. I'll second Sarah Millican. Nish Kumar has a fun bit on Netflix, part of the Live at the BBC series (link isn't from that show, but IIRC it's similar material). Greg Davies is always great, whether it's stand up or a chat show.

Oh man, Greg Davies is amazing on all the panel shows too, love that guy. In fact, that's how I got into all the UK comedians in the first place - liking Jimmy Carr took me to 8 Out Of 10 Cats (and Cats Does Countdown), and it all went from there.

The late, great, Patrice O'Neal. Bill Burr and Louis CK, if it counts for this. Jim Jefferies (the specials, not his show), Jim Norton if you like perverted shit, Trevor Noah (older specials), Anthony Jeselnik, Joey Diaz (check him out on Youtube, his special was shit), Ari Shaffir, Ricky Gervais.

Edit: Also, check out Andrew Schulz, he's got a ton of shit on Youtube.
