Complete with towns, cities, gym leaders, etc.

Now, I believe inventing new Pokemon would be just too much work (and as we all know too much work eventually kills a project), so instead let's just use Pokemon from other regions.

We can base our region on an existing country from the real world, or just go wild.

Here's my proposal: let's base the country on Cuba! My justification is that I hate winter and love tropics.

 

I believe the next region will be based on Australia and there's a lot we could do with that so that's my proposal.

 

The next region should be the United States, just because so many things happened there, so you can make a lot of easter eggs. And it will be called: Trumpia or Pokemon Gun (-_-)

 

Unova region is New York. That's not the whole country, of course, there's plenty of other interesting places, but I think they'll want to start fresh. I think it's pretty likely we'll get Spain sometime, though I would rather see Mexico or somewhere in South America like Argentina/Chile.

 

Unova and Alola are both based in America. They have two European based games too. I think it's far more likely that next region is Australia.

Regarding my pitch:

Gahdaya will obviously have a large central desert region which will mostly be a wild area, not completely desert though. Just like the wild area in Galar it will have Oasis, with large areas of fertile bushland, possibly a mountainous region.

To the south there will be a large separate island with a gym. This island should be mostly ice and snow covered and will have an Ice type gym.

The Great barrier reef area and the whole eastern coast will have large water routes with small islands. I picture an entire route that's like a coral lagoon where you can walk in shallow water.

The regional professor will be based on Steve Irwin and will be a heavily field orientated professor, who you jump into occasionally on your journey wrestling Krookodile. Optional Easter egg of him in the Northern coral area considering whether or not he should go catch a Mantine.

The evil team will be based on backpackers from the Galar, Unova and Kalos regions.

There will be a Pokémon that's based on a bag of wine.

 

We've been to parts of the US three times now, don't need a fourth yet. (Though it does fit the pattern: III, V, VII for Orre, Unova, Alola respectively.) Similarly, let's not stick to Europe because we've just gone there. If you want to base it on the real world, I'm going to vote for the Indian subcontinent (broadly speaking), with chief options revolving around the Indus/Ganges rivers. Alternately, the southern bit plus Sri Lanka (and the Maldives?) could work as well. The Indus option would be quite dry, i.e. Pokémon that come from arid or desert-y landscapes like maractus, sandile, sandshrew (etc etc), while the Ganges could use monsoons somehow, emphasising amphibian Pokémon and the like.

 

I dunno, I'm pretty sure basing a game in India would give Gengar a regional form with a split evolution called "Gengrape."

 

Australia is warm. I'm game friends. Let's do this thing.

 

So yeah I'm thinking the north coast would be more tropical like the Fortree area of Hoenn which would be one tropical route away from the seaside town based on the great barrier reef?

 

The south coast, being colder, would include the Australian Alps, though on the game they would just be called the Snowy Mountains. Tasmania could be a little post game island, like the Battle Frontier.
The cover art legendary could be the apocalyptic rainbow serpent.
Oh, and the pokemon professor is Steve Irwin.

Nah, clearly the League would be in Auckland, for maximum lulz.

 

Since our Professor is Steve Irwin, what tree related name shall he have?

• And legendary/mythical Pokemon inspired by Aboriginal mythological spirits like the bunyip
