It's a moose making a funny face, by accident I'm guessing. Someone took a picture at just the right moment. Picked the moose because I saw that gif of a moose absolutely tearing through waist-deep snow like it was nothing and decided that moose are badass. Added some TOP TEXT and BOTTOM TEXT and boom shakalaka.

Never thought about changing it, partly because I recognize people on DLP by their avatars as well as their names, unless they're prone to changing avatars, and partly because I just like it.

 

I have no idea how I found this pf. I believe I googled "cool profile picture" or something similar.

Stolen from some humorous wallpapers, together with the companion piece that is my sig.

 

Mine is a penguin wearing a Japanese style 'banzai headband' with the engrish text 'I Rock You Baby'.

It originates from the French Tactical-turn based MMODofusthat I played for a bit over 11 years ago (I think). It was originally someone else's avatar, but I found the engrish so amusing that I stole it. It has been the only avatar that I have used on DLP.

 

Mine is a picture a friend drew of the dnd character that I made in 6th form.

Much like my username was what I'd been using on MMORPGs, so was my avatar. It was a picture I found via Google for a character called Mordecai in a text based rpg back in...2003?

 

Mine is Tarquin, my favorite character from The Order of the Stick webcomic.

 

That would be the timeless and inimitable Rod Serling—writer and narrator of The Twilght Zone. An awesome talent with one hell of a captivating voice. A man I hold in very high esteem.

It was chosen back in the days when The Denarian series was the best thing ever, and it looks like a dark angel.

One reason I haven't changed it is that I tend to recognise people by their avatar, and have no idea who they are once they change it. The actual reason is because like screen names, I hate picking them and why fix what aint broken.

 

On this point its actually interesting to note that I've not actually changed my avatar since I joined the forum in 2005. There was a brief period, a few days I think, where it was...someone elses face. I can't remember who. It was part of a joke from the PYP thread and possible on IRC? And then there was a day or so where one of the staff decided to change my avatar to something else for laughs. But other than those few days, same avatar from 2005 for pretty much the exact same reason. I hate when others change theirs, so I feel like I shouldn't change mine.

 

Kubhilai Khan, because at that time I thought it was Genghiz by mistake. Inertia stops me from changing it now.
