Meh, I think I am too tired to meaningfully evaluate new information right now. I'll be back tomorrow.

I don't think I was present to engage with you after you answered my question, i was only really around the last hour before EOD.

I'll engage with stuff from yesterDay later, I didn't end up rereading any of it right now.

Is this sentence missing an end, or am I misinterpreting?

    -

I feel like Miner's attitude *today* that his slot should have died yesterday may be more likely to come from town. (I think the early defeatism yesterday could probably have come from either alignment.) I feel as though if he subbed into a "doomed" mafia slot and then was saved, whether by town or by mafia, he might attempt to continue on rather than continuing to be resigned in that way.

He also doesn't seem ingratiating today. That could come from either alignment if he thinks that he will die eventually anyway. But his play also does not really come across as self-conscious about how he will be perceived after he dies. Not really sure how to explain that better, it's a feeling.

    -

I think I like Grapefruit's read on me (#749) because it feels honest. I feel like if he were mafia, he might pick something less self-centered, and therefore more obvious to other people. He also did the thing where he undermined his own read ("self centered reads are awful I know") which is counterproductive to pushing something.

Maybe it helps to say that I don't expect responses to any "X, what's your read on Y?" question to be immediately, inherently alignment-indicative for either X or Y. An answer might reveal someone's process to be villagery or something, but that doesn't happen all the time. It's more like... you don't take a picture at a special event so that you can look at the picture right then - you do it so that later on, you have a snapshot of what things looked like at the time. If I take lots of "pictures" of other people's reads, maybe I can see when and why things change, later on. Data gathering, or something.

    -

I'm probably confbiasing him v at this point, but I liked Sloth's post on MP7. It's just a bunch of stuff that meanders and mixes in with little observations about posts without an end-goal of defending or condemning MP7. So I'm interested in what Rhand has to say about Sloth being mafia. I don't feel great about the slot based on their push against maybe town Miner, but at this point I think it might be easier to read Rhand's future posts rather than try to gain more from Fire's 3 posts.

    -

I generally like Waco's process through the late 700s. Asking tom to help him get a bead on Osie. The Fire/Miner not w/w read seemed to have thought put into it. It's super minor stuff, probably not super difficult to fake, but he's ~pushing the game forward~ and stuff.

    -

I'm gonna wait for MP7 to actually do stuff today because I feel like a good part of my read on him will be based on how he works and where he goes after Umami flipped v.

Seratin is kind of in that same category, where I am waiting to see where he goes after posting what he did at the start of the day.

I still don't have a strong read on Osieorb18 or Fluffiness. Am okay voting Fluff for Cuth's pressure thing ~for now~. I also have a hard time getting a handle on Cuth. People to look at when I'm more awake.

    Vote Fluffiness

    So. Sloth.
@everyone please look at sloth's ISO. Take a good look at the oldest page.
Sloth is posting mainly fluff, throwing some softball questions and keeping any reads he has for himself.
This is textbook scum play: look active, look involved, but wait out how the thread evolves before committing yourself to reads.

When he does commit, he votes Grape and calls Umami town, right before the Gemma/fonti stuff happens.
You would think that he then starts grilling his suspect, but what he really does is start grilling Umami after this.
First he connects Umami to tom, later drops that connection and keeps grilling Umami, eventually connecting Umami to Gemma.

He does repeat a few times that Grape is mafia, but then unvotes him out of the blue.
He later says that he realized that the aggression he saw in Grape wasn't AI, but adds that he can't see town motivation for it and that the play was unlike Grape. Sounds like a very bad reasoning for me for an unvote without voting a stronger suspect.

And then the real weirdness comes at EoD.
After spending most of his non-fluff posts grilling Umami, he states that he prefers a Gemma/miner flip over an Umami flip:
Close to deadline, GH asks this:
And Sloth's reaction is to vote Umami. While most online people at that time were on the Umami wagon. Why doesn't he try to convince those to switch to Miner instead, who he said is the better lynch?
I don't think Sloth really cared who got lynched.

Sloth scum, Miner town. That's what I think we are looking at.

tl;dr: Sloth spent most of his time grilling umami, didn't interact with Gemma/miner, but then at EoD wants Gemma/miner lynched over Umami. But when the deadline is there and he could have convinced people to vote miner over Umami, he votes Umami instead.

Okay I'm back. Apologies for my outburst at the start of day, I realise it was negative but in my eyes we had a perfectly good wagon aimed right at a scumslot and I was still salty at how that flipped to Umami.

I still believe we're better off lynching @Miner right now.

Have you caught up on today?

Are you saying that my play felt that way yesterday? Could you point to some specific examples?

Let's talk about M7's progression of his Umami read.

Because the more I look at it the more I dislike it.

@Rhand I see your Sloth read.

I'll trade you a sloth opinion for a m7 opinion.

    Actually, EOD is a goldmine.

I’ve seen things that I like and (a bit more) things that I dislike in M7. I would place him towards the scummy side of null.

At this rate, we won't even have enough votes to lynch someone.

Nah, sure they do; though I would say it's more low-to-med that do it.
    It comes down to intent: There's a line between {nervous/new town being careful in their wording because their intent is to help town} and {scum nervously trying to look town in front of an intimidating player}
Plus M+7 is not a new player, nor did he display that energy prior to GH or outside of him (whereas a scenario you're describing would be universal, not centered)

Do you have any other feedback on the loose-assortment-of-thoughts-I-will-charitably-refer-to-as-an-assessment?

I don't think I know enough about Keldeo or MP7 to comment on that last bit. Surface glance indicates MP7 is more active and keldeo's more passive, but actions align in important ways (see Umami), so I'm of two minds of the idea that it's pandering towards him.
The font thing I agree, and the you thing has been brought up constantly.
As for me in this list, I think this read was being stretched for the reason of me being town (i.e. "reasons" lead to "townread", more like "townread" leads to "reasons") don't get me wrong, I'm totes town, and yo mama didn't raise no fool so I assume you know this, but I can read.

Re: the rest of this post: We agree on GH (clearly), semi-agree on MP7's reactive responses to others,
though I still can't comment if there's a stark difference in those reads you mentioned vs. the scumreads.

What do you think the focus on Keldeo means here?

Read his moves at eoD. What do you see?

Do you think sloth would have been listened to?
Thats a genuine question i was fairly sure that i wouldnt be listened to on umami but tried anyway for some wagons, so im not sure i know what the mood was towards miner any more

@Keldeo can you talk me through your progress on Umami up to this post?
And how it evolved following this post?
So, basically, your read of Umami, with a BV and AV asterisk.

Also, serious question: How effective did you expect a pressure vote to be if you call it that?
Has anything on fluff pinged you in particular?

Would still like to hear about why you were sure scum changed votes.
Maybe which specific votes (if youre feeling froggy, separate analysis for scumminer and townminer)

I think so? Not sure. But the general idea was to reach a lynch. I'm quite convinced he could have pushed it on Mine.
The problem is he didn't even try.

Augh! I just want to talk to my friends and see if they're ok.

    Votecount 2.2

    Fluffiness (2): Cuthalion, tom
    Seratin (1): Miner

Abstaining (7): Grapefruit21, M Plus 7, Keldeo, Fluffiness, Sloth, The Waco Kid, Seratin

With 12 alive, soft lynch is 7 and hard lynch is 9.
