Your brain automatically interpreted Del's post in a positive light, coming up with a way that it made sense from a town POV, and you were just going through the motions of talking to him to confirm his thought process was what you knew it was.

Seems like TMI/busy-work instead of a natural town thought process.

Alignment doesn't make a difference for Vaimes because he sucks at both alignments!

 

I don't know how obvious it was that Dels meant fontisian asks towny questions in general rather than in this specific game, but I saw it as him being genuine there and not making up a reason to townread her (which it almost sounded like he was doing because come on, font asked a question so she's town?).
