Did not. No one is compelled to have the same reads as me and my expression of a read has no necessary bearing on the reads of others. (I wanted to find a gif of the jester singing to Brave Sir Robin's protestations, but alas, the Internet has failed me.)

He hasn't, and I disagree, but it's fine, I can't force anyone to be interested in something they aren't. I wanted to see what you did with it more than anything, and thought you might respond well to someone directing you, but I was mistaken. It's all good.

I could be reading too much into her words, but Gemma has come across as a little annoyed / incredulous toward me and some other players? Like the interactions around #193, #204, and #207. Whatever the reason, it seems fairly genuine / not faked and more likely to come from a villager here IMO.

I also think the elaboration about her townreads in #192, and the fact the ones she chose to discuss were relevant to the questions she'd been asking people, holds together pretty well.

I wasn't trying to make any statement about what you said about Para. Sorry if my wording implied anything. You didn't "shoot down", no.

Rubi hasn't finished talking about you no but he acknowledged it and said he would later so there's nothing more to ask him at the moment.

    Also, hi Gemma.

When she called out TerRaine for her read on you (just before my post).

What do you think of TerRaine calling you town?

You are misreading my tone, but don't worry, everyone misreads my tone. The only moment I have been annoyed this game was when fonti made me laugh.

Yes, apologize more. He said he would talk about his new read, not the old one.

Also hi, you're beautiful, have a bird.

    Fair enough.

I'm going to keep townreading you for it anyway.

I don't really want to be the one doing this but no one else is going to and with a bunch of early suspicion going your way I think it's important to get you to be more transparent. I don't actually care about your read on me so I'm just going to use third person.

Which questions iyo did Gemma ask that pinged you a little? I went through her ISO and the only thing that's there is her asking Para what pronouns he prefers, which has no relevance to the game, and her asking Para about his playstyle, which has relevance to the game but not to Para's alignment, at least not in the sense that a question about reads would have.

I can only assume you weren't getting an alignment read off her asking about pronouns, so could you explain how your read was that she has a style of asking questions (plural) and not following up, in a purely factual sense, so we can understand how your gears were turning on that one, and also why you thought that was wolfy?

    Weinkle :(

I think the part of this that's confusing and somewhat concerning is how quick you were to call her town for it. Why is one question, not even a particularly incisive question, just a simple why question, why is that one question sufficent for you to feel comfortable calling one of the better scum players in this playerlist town? I realize there's probably not a whole lot you can say here to make your position seem reasonable, but do try?

How come? It's fine to ask people about their reads on you. There's nothing particularly AI about thinking someone's read on you is disingenuous and asking them to elaborate. Do you think people will call you out for that? If so, fuck 'em, they're dummies and probably wolves too, not worth your time.

Gemma's question to Para, and her later requests for two different people to explain their townreads on Para, pinged as interesting and potentially wolfy at first (busy work / not natural sounding). She ended up following up and explaining her thought process about Para in more detail later and I no longer think the questions are suspicious.

Most of this is just a difference in playstyle, and in our relative comfort in declaring strong reads on little/no evidence, i.e. you didn't want to answer when I asked for your scumreads because we're only 24 hours into the game. I think throwing out strong reads early in the game (including "Gemma = Wolf?" when you'd barely posted) is fine and a useful step in the process of developing better and more serious reads.

Also, I've been playing mafia games with fontisian for nearly a decade - not as many games as other people here, not recently, and not enough to think I can read her better than anyone else. However, I do know that she is a useful person to have around when she's town, and is rarely a good lynch on D1 unless you have some concrete evidence against her.

So, I'll throw a townread at her for now and give her space to build reads and catch some scum. If she doesn't end up catching scum, or starts doing other shady shit, or we run out of other suspects and PoE points at her, then I can reevaluate later.

I think it's going to be hard for people to read me in this game because of how long I've been away from DLP, and mafia in general, so hopefully the post above helps you and others understand me better.

@Dels @Cuthalion talk about how Rubicon is sidestepping the question here and what it means for his alignment.

In the world where fonti is town and Rubicon is mafia, Rubicon sees fonti as his main threat due to their history together and thinks the best way to handle that threat is to throw a townread at her and hope it makes her not want to kill him. I think it's reasonable we could be in that world, mostly because I don't think Rubicon's treatment of her makes much sense if he's a villager but also because I've seen wolves treat fonti this way before, especially within a certain meta. @The Waco Kid @Cobalt is that the world we're in, or is it just playstyle as Rubicon claims? (Anyone else feel free to respond.)

Sure. It's not a sidestep so much as it is a reframe. The context of your question was entirely, what made him say "Gemma = Wolf?" in post #35. At the time, you had only asked two questions. (Pronouns/Playstyle) His answer here includes "her later requests for two different people to explain their townreads", which happened after #35, so it's sort of... adding more context from later, to justify the read from earlier. It also doesn't quite answer the question, because the question was "Why was it wolfy" and the answer is just, like, "They pinged me as wolfy." He does say it seemed like busy work and not natural sounding, which, fair enough for page 1, but I'd argue that your first question to Para was just a basic human question and not something I'd ever read into.

I don't know what this specific response means for his alignment, but I agree he is a suspect, hence the vote.
