Yeah this, I want to hear all of this explained in detail. If you're town this is probably what's really going to help me see it.

I think he was saying that there were 2-3 scum on the Wisp wagon and had coloured the wagon in with a fair few people he was scum reading. It's not the sort of logic that I like to use / agree with, but I think it makes some sense from his PoV.

I initially just wrote Fonti off as town because that’s what you do on D1 when Fonti seems relatively normal. We tend not to really PoE her until D3ish or unless something particularly damning comes up.

I need to re-read EoD to figure out if I was just OMGUSing her, because just off the top of my head posting from mobile right now I’m not sure if that’s what I was doing. Sometimes I react that way when people push me, but there was something about the way she tried to flashwagon me that seemed super opportunistic.

Like, a lot of people wanted Wisp dead, because of his bizarre -EV behavior making the game state difficult, whether that indicated scum or not. If Scum!Fonti successfully pulled off a misyeet on me, it sets up for the thread to keep the focus on Wisp for a misyeet later. It just seems like something that scum Fonti would want to do for the sake of good positioning in regards to misyeeting.

Her EoD was chaotic and bizarre even aside from the flashwagon attempt on me. She almost was goading me - with that one post where she said I as town would be calling her the scummiest scum to ever scum, when I had at that point said she was basically openwolfing - I don’t often see Town!Fonti with a REASON to be trolly and chaotic like that during EoD. It doesn’t serve the town and Fonti doesn’t often do things that don’t serve the town well when she is town.

I think a lot of what Gemma said about Fonti during early this day swayed me away from locking her as scum, but I still need to re examine this interaction to get to the meat and motivation of it. Because the bottom line is, I don’t think Fonti had town motivation behind what happened.

Talking all of this out has sort of made me realize that she is still kind of a scum read of mine but it’s more of a lean at this point because I’m not sure how much the fact that she’s pushing me and I don’t like it is coloring my thoughts.

    Does that help @Regfan ?

I’ll get to more of the other players when I have the time and when I’m at my computer. For now I’m most comfortable posting from mobile and just going over my general thoughts.

Nod. I'm sorry, btw, I'm feeling pretty, I don't know, dried out, don't really have any energy or anything for I guess complicated reasons that I'd rather not talk about, so I'm not sure how useful I'm going to be today in terms of reads and such. I went over tom and I can write words about it but there just isn't much there. We responded to stuff in similar ways at similar points, but that's not a reason move him up my read list. I don't know, think I have to settle with him being more in the null zone for the time being.

So I'm ending up with Vaimes/Sloth/Dels/Waco/you as my townreads in no particular order. I'm going to ISO Rubicon and fonti and reevaluate those reads because I'm not comfortable with either of them, from there there's Cobalt but I think with a bit of waiting he's probably going to start doing some more alignment indicative things that will help us slot him somewhere more confidently. Cuth also needs to show up so that's another waiting game, as it stands his posting today felt very bland and a little empty, but I'm also hopeful? with a question mark that he'll come back and put my suspicions to rest. I think we're almost exactly on the same page with him. Are you busy this evening? I kind of need to do something else with my day and try to feel a bit better mentally/emotionally. Was there anything else you wanted help on? What are your priorities currently?

@Dels I had this thought on Tom as well, but to me it was even more simple than what you explained here. Now that we know Wisp’s alignment it comes across as a TMI from Tom. Like sure it’s easy to say “there’s probably scum on Wisp” when you know it’s a misyeet and half the players in the game are voting him. Point of fact is though, he did nothing but point that out and didn’t do anything to actually stop the misyeet, so it just feels like classic TMI.

    Yeah it does help, thanks.

Will read over it a bit more soon, and if I've got any more questions about your Fonti read I'll ping you and let you know.

Hey @Gemma , can you please try to reiterate what you we’re saying about Fonti’s general disposition at the beginning of this phase?

It was one of the things that made me ease up on her but I don’t know if I want to lean into that too much.

@Regfan Cuth originally came across to me as there being nothing wrong or unnatural about his posting and that hasn’t changed much for the rest of the game so far.

I think that Cuth might also be a difficult player to read for me, or at least I remember having some difficulty correctly reading him in the past. So I’ll definitely have to revisit his ISO and go through it with a fine toothed comb to really determine if there’s anything that makes me ping.

I also might need to ask him for a scum / town game to compare, if I want to feel comfortable in my assessment.

This pings me SUPER HARD from Jarizok who is just barely entering the thread. It looks like he’s scum, and identifying a misyeet that has easy traction in the thread to get behind early to keep that traction.

I don’t like it and it reeks of opportunism.

I think I lean more with Cobalt on this one. To be so certain that there were enough scum on that wagon for it not to be bussing, and being certain enough Wisp was town, feels unrealistic to me. But I can see both arguments and don't need to debate it more. Tom did try to do something about it, but that something was voting Amy, which was never going to reach majority.

I remember pretty much nodding with most of Cobalt's catch-up, and now again feeling agreeable with his(their?) reads ignoring the Fontisian interactions (ugh. I need to re-read EoD again to take a look at that). Given how I usually read/feel about Cobalt, this is, oddly notable...

@Cobalt, Can you talk me through that hard town read on Vaimes?

I have thoughts on Fontisian, but I'm not going to talk about it toDay

This post is Fonti basically goading me from EoD 1.

“his reads are good which means he’s scum”

Like what is that even supposed to mean???

No need to apologise, is all good. Am starting to feel a bit better about the game myself and less in a ???? wut happen situation which is good. And makes sense re; your Tom read/stance.

Yeah, does seem like we're ending up in a fairly similar place. If I had to put them in my normal type placement thing it's something like Town (S->W): Sloth, [Gap], Gemma, Dels, [Gap], Vaimes, [Gap] Waco
And I'd probably add Rubicon to maybe the Waco area there.

I'm also going to probably take a few hours off and spend them with Claire, but I will be free this evening/tonight if you're in a better headspace and ready to talk more then. Hope you do feel better. Current priorities for me are also similar to yours in that I'm in a bit of a waiting game to see more from Cobalt (Which he's currently posting which is good), Cuth, more from Jarizok, see Amy do stuff today. And then do a more deeper read through of some of those players + Fonti and try and piece it together from there.

    Vaimes is Vaimes-ing.

Volume, tone, and reads seem on point with the way Vaimes is as town almost always.

I’d have to see something SERIOUSLY incriminating to make me rethink this.

It would help me a lot if you didn’t shelf your Fonti read and talked about it.

Look, quite frankly my townread on her was just because I was feeling shitty for her and wanted to be an ally. I'm not completely sure what you're asking here, so rephrase please if you want me to explain some aspect of that read in particular, but I'd honestly rather not talk about it more than I have to and my read on fonti right now is pending my rereading her ISO and seeing how she handles this dayphase.

    I tentatively like Cobalt’s post #122.
Also mostly agree with Gemma’s townreads.

Let’s vote Amy and see what happens.

    Vote Amy

I’ve ended up with a pretty strong townread on Sloth through rereading day one. I think he’s been doing some pretty good scum hunting without it being performative. He’s got this laidback vibe like he’s not confident in himself but watching everyone and noticing some shit that he doesn’t like.
