I thought we decided that yeeting outside the JOAT claims just got the JOAT killed, and that was -EV in tinfoil worlds where the game isn’t as obvious as we currently believe. If there’s no way around that, yeeting Tom seems preferable from a strategic point of view (even if it probably doesn’t matter).

Yeeting inside the JOATs means a correct yeet is 4 yeets at finding the partner + 1 tracker result minimum, small chance of 2
Yeeting inside the JOATs incorrectly means 3 yeets at finding the partner.

Yeeting outside of the JOATs means 4 yeets at finding the partner, but no results.

Is pretty much what it comes down to.

It's hard for me to truly have an unbiased opinion on yeeting within/without me and tom because I have the answer key to that particular problem that makes the current tom vote seem like the undeniable best course of action.

From an outside villager's perspective it basically comes down to "how comfortable are you with your answer being correct".

Dunking between me/tom is the lower floor, higher ceiling play. If you want to play it safe, you go outside. If you think you're RIGHT, however...

 

I'm actually not voting tom today. Amy's a complete noshow and tom's been spewing effort into thread non stop. Even if he's mafia I don't want to kill that. Y'all can do what you like.

So, based on what we know, if Tom is a wolf then yeeting either Tom or outside = town win due to the current PoE, but if Tom is not a wolf, yeeting outside is preferable because Amy/? worlds are wonkier and have more tinfoil possibilities. Would that be correct?

 

I can understand this perspective given my elongated absence yesterday and will admit to having been a bit lazy during the overnight period, but I still don't think this is an entirely fair read to make.

I'm biased though so shrug.

Yeah, I'd say that's accurate. Tom/X worlds are small (imo Tom/Waco, Tom/You, unlikely to be anything else). We'd have enough to win if we yeeted elsewhere, and Tom was mafia, can beat both of those worlds, and still have two more yeets to find who's mafia if we were wrong.

The better +EV move is probably yeeting outside, it's just more probably a slower way to go to ending the game.
