I think if Vaimes was town, he would have been a good kill for scum n1, since he was universally townread but not a likely joat save.

 

@fontisian - Any chance I could get you to do one of those for Cuth/Amy/Cobalt, I've been meaning to look at it that way with them too.

 

This was biggest part of the scum thought process. They were in a really solid position, with Vaimes as a near universal townread, Cuth being townread by a lot of people, and Amy being under a bit of pressure but nothing she couldn't work her way out of. Why would they want to change that?

Scum!Cobalt or Scum!Waco, on the other hand, were under a lot of pressure and needed to change the dynamic or they would have expected to go down the next Day. That team would have need needed someone like me or Sloth or tom out of the game.

 

I think in Cuth/Amy/Cobalt worlds, I die, because I was voted for both of them of eod, and was actively trying to yeet Cobalt. I don't think they gamble with letting me live to back up tom's case on Amy and tunnel Cobalt. The only reason they wouldn't shoot me there is fear of the Joat protect, but if that was their biggest concern, they probably wouldn't have tried to shoot you two times in a row.

If not me, then Gemma dies, because she was also backing Tom's push on Amy up, and she was likely to assist me with Scum!Cobalt as well.

Most of this aged poorly except for the town read on Dels. Let me try to find the other thing you asked for in my history about Amy.

I don't think I ever fleshed out this read but Amy had been pinging me throughout the game for activity level / lack of engagement or doing anything notable.

Which is why, when the time came, I reached out to Dels rather than Amy, even though both had been townreading me.

I think you're a little stuck in um, day 3 or whenever it was? I don't agree with you either way, though. The majority of times, at least in games here, I've seen villagers make the same argument / have the same thought process you're having right now in the past they've been wrong, because the other villager in the PoE with them is a wolf. Cobalt himself has been a victim of this, and has fought tooth and nail for someone in that situation but it was the game being correct and him falling prey to a sympathy read.

I think Dels has mentioned several times that they've got a strong town read on you excluding my thoughts on you.

I don't think anyone in this game is just town reading you purely from a 'trust me' perspective, everyone just knows you're town. Your stuff about Cuth SoD2 with the 'why's he alive' things, the interaction with Cuth and how you handled the me/fonti/cuth stuff. Your play in general and the amount of genuine thoughts and posts you've put in the game, your push to save tom yesterday. It's just clear you're town, and playing well here.

I don't think I've had a game where I've had to read him (there have been times where he's just obviously a villager and I don't have to put anything into the read) where my read on him hasn't been a dance around twtbaw stuff and trying to find small mindset things and never quite being able to get the read over the edge into clear territory. (Then on top of it all you come into day 3 with him having wolfsided super hard and you're like, man I am not equipped to deal with this.)

 

I see it, but I still want to ISO him/Amy and backread a little. If you do talk about him, I'd appreciate focus on the Amy/Dels stuff and what makes them unaligned iyo / how that measures to everything else in context of this being day 6 now.

I’m sorry if I’ve been braindead wolfsiding this game. Idk why I keep getting snowed by my own reads.

 

As an aside, it's super weird the way that thread consensus moved from Cobalt to Vaimes overnight, as if we'd all been posting thoughts to each other during the night phase and came to the same conclusions at the same time. Of course, it only feels that way because Dels wasn't posting so "thread consensus" was just me/Reg/fonti, but. I didn't expect going out of the day yesterday to be living in this world today, yet here I am. DLP things I guess.

On a more relevant note, all the posts from Cobalt on this page come across like Cobalt genuinely working at the game. I realize in worlds where Vaimes is town there's the very clear world where wolf!Cobalt is capitalizing on Reg's push to secure a misyeet that would otherwise be pretty much unavailable, but I'm not sure how much I think that's the likeliest world right now. Cobalt still has to die, but, maybe not immediately?

Oh, um, I guess EoD is in like an hour and a bit? I just realized I don't have time to be cruisey about catching up like this.
