Maybe we should set this up anonymous confessions style. Someone can set up an email address, people send their anonymous confessions in, said persons publishes a list of confessions, and we take time guessing who said what.

 

I would confess to having a love for Aslan/Harry slash just to implicate Arthellion. Aslan is just Jesus' animagus form, after all.

 

I have read the canon books more times than I've read fanfiction.

 

Honestly, these days I barely read anything that isn't either a crossover, a Peggy-Sue fixit story, an overpowered protagonist, erotica, or some combination of these.

 

I haven't read a Harry Potter fanfic in years (barring one or two crossovers). For some reason they just don't interest me all that much anymore. I mostly hang around this site for nostalgia and memes.

I thought On the Way to Greatness was bad and didn't finish it. I don't see anything wrong with magical exhaustion if it isn't used as a crutch for the author to cheaply make Harry more powerful. The issue is that it always is.

 

I enjoy Dudley redemption fics.

Also, I never got beyond Chapter 13 of Prince of the Dark Kingdom.

 

I read a few chapters of one of Kinsfire's fics once and didn't immediately throw up.

 

I really enjoy stories that focus on Quidditch. For example Harry as a pro Quidditch player. There aren't enough good fics in this genre IMO.

 

When I first started reading fanfiction, those were the sort of stories I read. Then I moved on to really edgy dark!Harry stories.

 

I really don't like romance in my stories.

Writing has to be exceptional for me to read a true romance.

 

I reread old favourite fanfics a lot. I can speed over the boring bits, enjoy the good bits. It’s dumb and easy and some I must have read 10+ times.... hell a few fanfics may be the most read stories I have ever read.

 

Not to mention my ability to remember every one of the thousands of stories on my hard drive...
I've forgotten more fanfic than not, and that includes the good ones, the bad ones, and (yes) the just plain ugly.

Ah, see, there it is on my hard drive, but I'd have had a hell of a time trying to look for it.

I honestly don't recall ever seeing a goth Susan Bones, though I do picture her being... quite blessed.

I've never had much interest in the character, to the extent that I groan every time I see an interesting summary that is capped off with "H/Susan Bones."

She could be girl #20 in a 'harem' and, despite having 19 other people to read about, I'd still be thinking, "Why? How much page time is this interaction going to eat up, because I could be playing a video game?"

I don't dislike her, but I'm... apathetic? Indifferent? At least she isn't Lavender.

 

I actually think making Susan goth would improve her character. Because you know she'd be one of those really corny and fake goth chicks who are just trying to piss off their parents.
