This might be The Darkness Within by Kurinoone, but I’m not entirely sure. I haven’t read many like what you are describing and from what I can remember that story is very similar.

Fun fact- that’s also the oldest (as far as update date) story that I have on my favorites list.

 

Thanks for the suggestion, but I glanced through and it doesn't seem like the fic I was looking for. In particular Voldemort's final state does not seem to be what I recall.

Hi, wondering if anyone here can help me find a oneshot I vaguely remember. Might've been on DLP, but searching is too choosy in terms of keywords.

As I recall, it's an AU where Draco works with Hermione in the war after Harry's killed. He becomes suspicious of Hermione's willingness to take drastic action and changes in behavior, snooping around her room. She's hidden her notes in a polarized mirror, which reveal that she's planning a Dresden-style bloodline curse that'll wipe out all purebloods i.e. not her. Forgot how it ended, perhaps reading it again will jog my memory.

I’am looking for a fic I read on AO3 and lost it while I was reading it... basically Harry is an adult and was working as a Unspeakable and he was transported to an alternate/parallel universe where Ivy potter is the girl who lived. Harry rescues ivy from the Dursley’s and raises her away from Britain. She is sorted in Slytherin is friends with Draco, Weasley twins and Harry becomes Lord Henry Peverell and the goblins are really helpful to Harry and ivy. Ivy also has a snake called Tiger. This was as far as I got before I lost the story...

BTW, I started reading it and it's a decent, goofy crackfic. There are elements of Harry the Hufflepuff, A Black Comedy and Make a Wish in it, and most tropes are there to be made fun of. The prose is serviceable.

Sometimes it tries too hard with the humor and falls short, but that's par for the course for this kind of fics. 3/5.

 

Does anyone recall the Harry/Luna fic where Harry was born in a Wizarding World where witches greatly outnumber wizards and it's very matriarchal? Harry has a synesthesia ability with magic and has to be kept separate from others like him early on such as Luna. It's been driving my crazy trying to remember the title.

I've asked this before:

I'm looking for an old alternate Triwizard story. Likely pre-2014 as I read this is my very early fanfic days.

The story might have had either adult Harry who returns to Hogwarts for the tournament after maybe growing up somewhere else, or maybe it had a new Triwizard tournament but for adults being run after Harry graduated Hogwarts (I might write a story on that actually: Triwizard tournament for graduates of the three schools? Interesting idea.)

One thing I do know for sure is during one of the challenges there was a metal tree (as in a magical plant naturally made from metal and whose metallic composition depended on the soil it grew in) covered in spines that at the time was drinking the blood of a bird unfortunate enough to roost in it. This part of the story stuck with me for obvious reasons and I keep wondering what happened in the rest of the story.

 

Looking for a Harry/Daphne AU story. It was set in Verona (or Venice? one of the two). Voldemort was conspiring for years to take control of the city. Harry was an aristocrat turned into a rebel, after his parents were murdered. There was also some Draco/Hermione. The summary was approximately something like "The people of Verona love beautiful things, wine and fine dress. But they love secrets most of all." The style of writing was unusual, a bit flowery and anachronistic.
