So in this universe we need to fill in about 20-25 years of her story?

It was my understanding that most of the Jedi that survived 66 basically went to ground.

She could very well have been doing nothing at all, just sitting low and waiting.

 

Unless she shows up in the Obi Wan show or in Fallen Order, I doubt we'll get another Clone Wars to Rebels (19 - 5 bby) filler for her anytime soon when the generic "hiding from the empire and Vader's Inquisitors" can pretty much be applied to all light-aligned force users.

Rebels to OT to Mando (2 bby - 9 aby) and Mando to ST (9 aby - 34 aby and/or her death) needs filling.

 

So...wife and I sat down to try and watch the Clone Wars cartoon. We started with The Clone Wars live action movie, then moved to the chronological watching order.

And just....star wars quality varies so much. You have absolutely epic things like KOTOR/Fallen Order/The Mando and then cheesy things like the prequels and cartoon series...and then you have the utter crapshow that is the ST.

Like even if the prequels and tv series had great lore building, the execution is...lacking...

 

How far did you get on Clone Wars? The first 2 seasons are, collectively, awful. S3 is spotty. S4 to s7 are, collectively, great.

 

We started with the chronological order, so S2 Episode 16. Then movie. Would it be possible to just start on season 3? or do you -need- seasons 1-2.

 

I mean, you 'll be a bit lost if you skip entirely, but you could get by with a few key episodes in the chronological order:

301 - troopers arc
101 for an intro to Ventress
105 - troopers arc
109 - 114 is sort of the intro arc of Ahsoka
115 skippable but introduces Chuchi
119 to 121 not necessary but introduces Hera's dad Cham Syndulla
201 to 203 for Cad Bane
204 is skippable, but it introduces BankingGuy
217 is skippable, but Embo is cool as fuck
205 to 208 not wholly necessary but Ahsoka's bff Bariss will be quite integral to one of the better arcs later on so I don't recommend skipping
210 is a rex episode and pretty good but skippable
212 to 214 for the intro mandalore arc
220 to 222 for miniBoba and the Slave1 gang

Everything in the chronological order not listed above can be safely skipped.

Then continue chronological order watching at 305.

 

There are a few episodes season 1 and 2 that are worth watching, like the clone episode (ep 5) in season 1, maybe the end arc in season one where theyre trying to free Ryloth, the Cad Bane episodes in season 2, the Genosios arc, and then all of the Mandalorian episodes in season 2

The great thing about Clone Wars is that you can ask ten fans about what the "essential" episodes are, and you'll probably get ten different lists, a few of them radically different outside of a few big arcs. I think this article is the one I have the least argument with.

I'd like that. I stopped somewhere in S3. You say S4 onward is the good stuff, so I might pick the series up again if I knew what's skippable.

 

Aside from Wiki episode rundowns. Is there a good place to read the plot of the series indepth? I much prefer to read it if the show in janky.

 

Really just Wookieepedia plot summaries. StarWars.com used to do episode reviews but they've seemingly been removed.

If Rangers of the New Republic is Cara Dune centric, I will be sad. Of all the characters on Mando, she is by far the most uninteresting.

That episode was okay. Probably the weakest of the season. Bill Burr definitely delivered on his bit though.

 

I enjoyed it. Well paced and good character development.

 

I know a lot of this show is just silly pulp, but what kind of security system just requires scanning any face to gain access? They couldn't have come up with a more contrived reason for Mando to take the helmet off if they tried. Pedro Pascal acted that scene very well but the circumstances made it hard to take seriously and really undercut the character work.
