Just fucking scrap these godawful movies. You can do better. Hell, a high-school film project could do better. Don't tiptoe around them.

With Mandalorian running so well, I have really high hopes for that. These movies are the AU now!

I'll watch Hayley Atwell in pretty much anything. She could read the phone book and I'd be riveted.

I like Jason Isaacs as Thrawn myself.

Not sure I can see Chris Evans as Han. I'm sure he'd do a great job, but it's hard to see him as anything other than Captain America now. Although his Knives Out character was something else I guess.

Definitely fair. I was going more off of his Knives Out and Johnny Storm acting vibes than his Captain America, but definitely fair. Was more just loling at the idea. But I could see someone else in the role. Alden Ehrenhreich was alright. But meh. Either of the Franco brothers could be a good fit. Maybe David Fillion.

    Meh.

Jason Isaacs as thrawn is another very good choice. I'd love it.

So, I'm full on meh-as-fuck regarding Boba Fett. I never got his allure, never got his following. All I ever knew him as was as a dude in armor that bitch-died in a sand monster's belly. Then I knew him as a shitty little kid who's dad got big-dicked by Mace Windu. Then, for a long time, my opinion of his punk ass was as an unkillable shitlord boss in Jedi Academy on the Ord Mantell mission. THEN, on the non-canon dark side Starkiller Tattooine DLC on The Force Unleashed that let me kill his ass. (As a straight aside, the Hoth and Tattooine DLC missions on the OG the force unleashed were superb. Some of the best SW game content ever - especially with the Darth Sion skin)

ALSO. His puke green armor color is fucking ugly.

I'm still hype as fuck for his TV show.

I might not care at all about Boba or his Sidekick, but I care deeply about a badass merc in the SW universe just fucking all kind of shit up. Can't do much wrong in that, hell, we could get a new procedual genre, I don't need no plot. Today we killing Rebels. Tomorrow Empire. Day after some runaway slaves and after their boss, because he tried to scam. Writes itself!

Hey now, Fennec seems to be a character I'm pretty damned interested in - ex-imperial assassin is something we just haven't gotten a lot of so far, and we're just scratching the surface on the ISB too, so if we get more of her backstory (and Ming-Na Wen's backstory, if you know what I'm saying) it can only lead to more interesting things, and her being a badass.

Boba Fett though, yeah, I'm not sure of. Probably still be great though.

I want old Jedi/Sith stuff. Rise and Fall of Exar Kun or Darth Bane for example.

I was always more interested in Jedi and Sith lore than with ordinary stuff. But I'll take all the good SW shit I can get.

Absolutely. I'm cautiously optimistic about the High Republic stuff, because anything outside of the Skywalker period is something we'd never really had fleshed out, but the Old Republic is really the golden egg for most of us. And it's even more relevant now that they're slowly canonizing people and worlds from the games, you figure they have to be leading up to it eventually. No way they introduce places like Malachor and Tython without intending for them to me more than a one-off - they could have just used random places they made up at dinner if that's what they wanted.

Ray Stevenson or Idris Ilba for Bane imo.

    And Michael Fassbender for Revan.

I dunno, if you could somehow transfer their talent into Vin Diesel's body, I think it would fit. Bane was basically a smart thug who taught himself to be a mastermind, not to mention he actually looked a little bit like him, so I think talented!Diesel would be my hypothetical best casting for Darth Bane.

I could see that. Fassbender would definitely be able to do justice to Revan as a cold-blooded strategist and Sith Lord, though I think someone like Christian Bale would be better at bringing the intensity of the older, sort-of-losing-his-mind SW:TOR-era Revan.

Also, having re-watched the Season 2 finale, something struck me.

So during Din's 1-on-1 with the Dark Trooper, we see the DT punch his freaking helmet so hard that it slowly gets driven into the bulkhead. Afterward, as far as I can tell, there's not a scratch on his helmet. Now, I'm not trying to argue the realism of that. Beskar is basically space-mithril, and I am fully willing to accept that.

What I want to know, is if that kind of repeated apocalyptic mega-punch didn't even scratch the beskar, what the fuck put that dent in Boba's helmet?

My understanding is that Din's armor is "pure" beskar, which is significantly stronger than the beskar alloy most Mandalorian armor is made. Bo Katan makes a point of emphasizing that only pure beskar can withstand the darksaber, which all of Din's armor and spear does, but there's not a lot of point of that emphasis unless most beskar armor is an alloy of some kind and weakened enough to not be able to handle it.

@Othalan i was actually thinking vin diesel, but his height could be a thing.

also as you say, his acting can be suspect.

Okay, that actually makes a lot of sense, and now that you mention it, the emphasis Bo-Katan puts on that does seem to imply a lot. That also raises a lot of questions about the rarity of Beskar if even most Mandalorians can't get their hands on enough of the pure stuff to forge their armor. It would also explain why the Death Watch characters in The Clone Wars seemed so much easier to kill with blasters if their armor is just inferior to Din's.

I also wonder now, since Gideon was presumably the source of the Beskar that Werner Herzog's character paid Din with in Season 1, does he have more in his cruiser's cargo hold? If he does, that could be a nice bargaining chip to get more Mandalorians to sign on to Bo-Katan's "Reclaim Mandalore" quest. Even if Gideon doesn't have any more on his ship though, I bet he's got a line on where the Empire stockpiled more of the stuff after the Purge.

All of the announced series make me very worried, honestly. Feels like they're trying to milk this success for all its worth, while losing sight of what made it work in the first place.

    I hope I'm wrong.

Just found this gem. Mark Hamill spoofing reaction videos to THAT part of the Season Finale. Choice lines include "Take that, Rian Johnson!" and "If you don't want to see Baby Yoda die, then you must erase the Disney Trilogy."
