I always thought that she was white and the ex she had Blaise with was black - is this ever confirmed?

I dunno. I just mentally pictured her as Eva Green since forever. I can't remember if they're every mentioned in canon at all and cbf looking lol...

 

I think you may be confused as to what a black widow is.

 

I know a lot of people don't like it, but Noodlehammer's For Love of Magic features Mrs. Zabini in a very large & interesting role. Blaise is not a major player though.

Prince of Slytherin puts Zabini's mother in a sort of important role in regards to the prophecy.
