I mean, a city destroying game does exist. Red Faction Guerilla. No magic, but you can totally destroy huge chunks of the city at least.

 

I’ve been thinking about this for ages.

My favourite games of all time are the originally Command and Conquer/Warcraft2-3, and Final Fantasy 7,8,10.

I wish someone would make a nice classic RTS game with no online play, to DLCs and just a good campaign and game play.

The Final Fantasy is similar, no online, no multiplayer, just good story and game play.

 

Not quite the same, but check out They Are Billions if you haven't seen it before. I found it a few years back while looking for games similar to Warcraft 3. I've been hooked on it off and on ever since.

 

I have always wanted to play a game where the playable character became self-aware and everytime you turned off the game and came back again, you would find that they did shit without you.

Over time, the PC would start to try and negotiate with you, asking for favors like getting them better armor, homes, weapons, companions, etc.

Better yet, all the NPC's are aware that the PC is essentially possessed by a god(you) and their main goal is to improve their stats or whatever, so you would choose them and they become the chosen one.

 

No, you don't.

It would never pass, dream game is an mmo where the time you put in was proportional to your progession. Ala original Sword art online just without the murder

 

I think my dream game is an insane mixture of Monster Hunter/MMORPG and yet to be invented machine learning crafting systems.

Basically I want a game where crafters can get countless ingredients and mix them in equally countless ways to make truly unique creations. That constant creativity/discovery where the crafting meta is never truly 'solved' (because there's just too many combinations and possibilities) and it's constantly shrouded in mystery, where the smiths have a signature and formulae unique to them because nobody is quite sure how they make what they make etc.

I dunno if I explained that well...

It starts off as a quirky harem romance VN, but then becomes an existential horror piece around the halfway point.

 

Let me know your thoughts when you’ve finished it but this is very much a good description.

 

In one of the MonHun portable games, you could use pretty much any ingredient in the making of an armour - for example, the 'Bone Mega Hammer Mk 7' required 1000 [bonescore]. Using a small bone gave you 1, a medium gave you 5, and a large would give 10; using a RathBone would give 100. Pretty sure they scrapped that for the next one though.

I'd hoped they'd do something like 'use 10 _prey hide', and you'd get 10% of the boost from each of them, so picking all 10 as Wroggi would give you poison resist, or 10 Jaggi would give paralysis resist; mixing would give low resist to both.

That never occurred though.


I like the idea of an infinite crafting tree, especially if there's hidden variables, like the order you select ingredients, and how quickly, but it might be a bit complex to do, unless you go for a huge database or full0on machine learning.

 

It's almost what I wanted. Almost because I would prefer more generic take with multiple villains, but I will take magical adventure.

 

I liked xcom 2 but I'm wary about anything relating to Marvel and 2K especially...
