I liked the update... sort of. The intro to that final combat scene was almost surreal somehow, and I thought that it was a dream sequence or something... and then it just dragged on and on. Still. Most of the character stuff was good, and the plot keeps on moving. I'll keep up with any future updates.

I re-read the whole thing, and the latest chapter was truly epic - it really hit hard, and summoned both dark despair and cold hope in equal measures.

Really looking forward to Year 7.

 

I too reread it. I think the chapter at the Longbottom residence is one of the best scenes in fanfiction. Bellatrix asking Harry if he'll sream for her was brilliant writing. Looking forward to the conclusion 30 years from now.

 

Terrible new chapter. And this was a story I regularly checked for updates on because mer profile was always updated to say it wasn't abandoned. Its one of the very beast.

I'm optimistic that this could be the start of a new set of updates, I suppose that there was a lot to clear up in chapter 6 of year six, and the sloppiness is to be expectred after a 7 year hiatus but still...

 

I thought it was a great chapter actually, easily up to Mira's others.

In term's of Luna's injury... Madame Pomfrey literally says its a simple injury but that "something- her mind... is resisting me." The story flat out says the issue isnt the injury but the damage done due to the horcrux... and then harry has an internal debate about how much he can share with Madame Pomfrey without giving away the truth of horcrux's.

The dumbledore V. Voldemort battle i suppose is more subjective, but i thought it well done and playing on several themes that had been laid out early. i.e Dumbledore ISNT the fighter he once was due to the injury in part maybe but more due to his not having the elder wand anymore (though only he is aware of that second). Obviously he is hamming it up with snape.. .but we (and harry) know why.

And i for one LOVED harry's realization afterwards that he is the only one to know the truth of snape and will have to play the liason for his info... the responsibility that adds. There is a specific moment where it happens. One of the things Mira Mirth does well are the small realizations like that.

The diadem resolution was just that it was destroyed? I suppose I grant there wasnt any great drama around it.. but there often isn't with horcrux destruction. I for one thought it a positive that the story isnt going to be about obsessive horcrux clues and moral dilemnas before destroying them.
