The only thing WoW is good for now is schadenfreude.

 

Now us the perfect time for WCIV RTS to refresh the series.

 

I think it's far more likely they'll do a single player RPG to do that.

But honestly? After the shitshow they served up in Shadowlands, I'm have absolutely zero faith in them as a team unless I start seeing some 'departures.' No one should be allowed to fail that badly and keep their jobs.

And I don't fucking buy it being the asshole who just left's fault.

 

Meh. To be honest with ya, I felt this was better than what I had come to expect, lol. Way better than the BfA ending, but BfA had them sweet cinematics though. So, meh.
Honestly, I think I would have enjoyed this expac far, far more without covid and the ridiculous content drought, not to mention the shit show that was Blizzard the company.
Everyone seems to have collectively decided its gonna be dragon Isles next though.
Cue, eventual disappointment anyway they do it, lol.

 

It still would have been shit even with more than one patch per year. Which is a shame, because the core gameplay loop of wow remains great. There's a few class design issues here and there, but by and large, WoW's moment to moment gameplay is best in class, as always.

The problem is all the KPI driven design that dominates literally every aspect of the game and makes the experience of that moment to moment gameplay into a painful slog that just doesn't feel good.

Whoever has been in charge of design decisions since Legion, and it's very obviously the same people, need to be replaced immediately before they ruin a fourth expansion. I'm not sure who it is, though I'd put money on Hazzikostas being at least one of them, but they need replacing asap.

As for 10.0, it's the first time I'm actively dreading a new expansion, because I just know it's gonna be shit. There's no faith left at all, which fucking sucks.

 

Ion is fine as a raid designer, he just shouldn't be in charge of WoW in it's entirety.
