Oliver Wood. He had his priority: it was Quidditch, occasionally to the detriment of all other things. He wasn't a perfect leader, but he did give Harry some decent advice about regaining at least some measure of social acceptability after Harry and friends fucked up and lost a ton of points for Gryffindor. Out of the figures to take any sort of mentorship role in Harry's life, he's one of an elite group who never tried to kill him. He also came back to Hogwarts to fight with DA in spite of never being a member of it himself.

If we're talking characters who are minor, but with a little more screen time than the Quidditch Captain who graduates at the end of Book 3, I am persuaded by the arguments for Arthur "Mugglefucker" Weasley made by @Otters.

I dunno, the Crouch Jr arc always felt kind of... convenient to me? Good enough a ruse for us, the readers, who are strangers to this world, but in no way should have worked for a whole year IN Hogwarts. Maybe that's just me.

After so many years since I've read the books (literal decades at this point), it's hard to separate fact from fanon.

I've always loved Fleur because, as much as I love a hot, snobby, talented aristocrat, I love ones that are unrepentedly so even more.

Of the ones we know next to nothing about? I was always fascinated by Zabini's mum. The implications are obvious, but would Slughorn really want to cozy up to the son of an obvious murderer? I dunno.

Maybe I just have a type...
