I have read a lot of fanfiction over the years. Many of it with plots that I have read over a hundred times, sometimes the author, while using a cliche plot, will have some good ideas mixed in.

But the one thing I have never seen is a fic where Ginny Weasley becomes a Death Eater.

I don't know what the circumstances would be for her to even become a Death Eater. It would have to be something drastic, maybe the effects of the diary start to influence her, or maybe she feels unappreciated by her peers and is manipulated by someone that she can gain the recognition she wants with the Dark Lord.

Truthfully, I think it would be worth it just to see Harry blow her to pieces when she confronts him in Death Eater clothing. Who knows, Molly Weasley may have a break down if that happens.

Anyone ever see a fic where she is a DE?

The was once a Harry/Tonks fic that featured DeathEater!Ginny. Ginny killed Tonks in the last chapter or two. Also there was a one night stand Harry/Ginny story that I read once long ago. Can't remember the titles right off the top of my head, maybe someone else knows. *shrugs*

There are a few where the diary eventually causes ginny to become enamoured with Voldemort. It's not really a subject that comes up too much, though.

 

I don't usually like those kinds of fics, because Ginny always loses her freckles and her hair darkens, then she gets a perfect body and becomes Evil!MarySue!Ginny. If there was a good one, with Harry dating someone else and her getting pissed and trying to kill them (but failing) I'd read it. Other than that, not really interested.

Yes that is one good story, at least in the middle before he starts falling in love with 'his princess'. Searching through fanfiction lead to stories like this though:

I think this answers the question on whether Death Eater Ginny is a good idea...

 

I would prefer one where Ginny is as insane as Bellatrix. Insane as in, she goes home to the Burrow one night and decides to kill her family while they sleep or uses the Cruciatus curse on Harry.

I don't know how she would go insane though. I thought maybe some magical accident with a spell that warps her mind.

 

Reading about Ginny torturing her family and then getting her ass thrown into Azkaban would sound nice. Of course, her reasons for turning dark would have to be acceptable and not overly cliche. No romance either.

 

I used to see a shit load of these kinda stories about 2 years ago. Now, not so much.

The idea can work but like what the others said, it usually just turns into a cliche romance story.

 

Or we could just say fuck Ginny and ignore her completely.

 

She wasn't there in the first five books, so why do we have to include her in fanfiction? Let's just ignore her or kill her off, then we don't have to write some lame side story about Ginny's descent into Darkness.

 

Killing her off would be great, but I want to see Harry be the one that kills her off. And the only way he would kill her is either 1) He goes evil, 2) She goes evil. And since there is quite a few insane!Harry fics, I would like to see insane!Ginny.

Though if someone is writing a canon Harry fic, no doubt Harry would try to bring Ginny back to the light side....good thing I don't read canon Harry fics.

 

If your going to kill her off, you have to come up with a good way of killing her. Make it interesting, something that catches your eye, not just throwing a killing curse her way...

 

Iv'e read a few, and they are pretty hilarios actually. Can't think of any names off the top of my head though, don't exactly have the best memory.... Anyway, I don't know why there aren't more, Ginny seems to be an evil conniving (spelling?) girl who will do whatever she can to get what she wants. I don't exactly know if thats my views from Canon, or if they are now twisted by the amounts of fanfics I've read, but Ginny certainly is Death Eather material. Especially with the creepy obsession with Harry.... ew...

 

Shit, this thread served to remind me that Ginny's still alive in Assassin's Creed. I am now motivated to kill her off as soon as possible.

I think it would be most realistic if Ginny turned Death Eater on the condition that she receives Harry as a sex slave. She encounters Harry, who kills her while she's gloating.

As for the idea itself; Why in fuck's name would I want to read a story about a character I so vehemently hate? Besides most of this genre is utter shit. Here is how it usually goes;Ginny is ignored by Harry, as a result she turns to the darkness. uke:
