That's super unusual. In my 7 years of schooling, I got stomach bugs a couple times, and the flu once. Most of my friends saw similar trends. Plus of course, every time everyone comes back to school after a holiday, everyone inevitably gets a cold. Standard stuff.

This probably translates to other illnesses. Wizards don't want to get lung cancer from smoking their pipe, so they don't get it. They don't want to get cirrhosis from drinking too much firewhiskey, so they don't. They don't want to have a heart attack from eating poorly, so magic makes that happen. Chronic conditions just aren't a thing, because wizards don't want to have them, so magic sorts that out.

The same thing happens with injuries. Drop a muggle out of a second story window, they get hurt, they might die. Wizards don't want to die, so when you drop Neville out a window, he just bounces down the drive. A muggle skydiver has their chute fail to open, they die, when Harry face plants into the quidditch pitch at 150mph, he spends a night in the hospital wing. The chances of Sirius having a fatal accident on his motorbike is infinitely lower than an equivalent muggle's would be. Hagrid mentions this in book 1 with his commentary about Harry's parent supposedly dying in a car crash. Wizards just don't do that.

Wizards are durable enough that it's perfectly safe to let 12 year old kids fly around 100's of feet in the air whilst being whacked with heavy iron cannonballs. Not so for muggles.

There's also the socio-economic and societal considerations.

Wizards enjoy a level of healthcare far, far beyond even the richest muggles. Even an issue major enough to overcome their innate advantages is much less likely to be fatal.

They also have a much, much higher baseline for 'poverty'. The Guants, poor though they were, weren't going to be malnourished. They weren't going to have insufficient sanitation. They weren't going to lack for basic healthcare. A wizard can survive at a moderate level of comfort with basically no resources. That helps with life expectancy. Poor people in the US make it to 70 or so. Rich people in the US last 14 years longer...

This essentially means that a wizards cause of death being 'old age / natural causes' is much, much higher than it is for a muggle. All the stuff that kills muggles in their 50s, 60s, 70s, dragging down our median lifespan, just don't occur. Barring a conflict, or a few rare but untreatable magical diseases, almost all wizards die when their telomeres get too short and their body gives up.

For muggles, that seems to happen around 120. But wizards don't want to die, so again, magic keeps them running just a bit longer.

On that basis, I'd expect a 'typical lifespan' is about 120, with the unusual outliers maybe making it to 150 or so.

I think that that's a very well reasoned answer, I agree. I will point out though that dragon pox seems to be very lethal and contagious, and it worked to kill a lot of 70ish year old witches and wizards who should have been around in HP, namely Fleamont and Euphemia Potter and Abraxas Malfoy. Additionally, while war may be the culprit, we barely hear of any living wizarding grandparents. JKR seemed to have a problem with three living wizarding generations at once for some reason.

It's actually mentioned in chamber of secrets how in october it got pretty cold and plenty of students and teachers got a cold, but which was instantly cured by Madam Pomfrey through the use of potions

October arrived, spreading a damp chill over the grounds and into the castle. Madam Pomfrey, the nurse, was kept busy by a sudden spate of colds among the staff and students. Her Pepperup Potion worked instantly, though it left the drinker smoking at the ears for several hours afterward. Ginny Weasley, who had been looking pale, was bullied into taking some by Percy. The steam pouring from under her vivid hair gave the impression that her whole head was on fire.

Personally I assume wizards are just as vulnerable to diseases as muggles are, but that unless the diseases are magical they're so easily and quickly cured that they're usually not even worth mentioning. Like I wouldn't be surprised if plenty of characters probably got sick over the course of the books but got healed so quickly nobody even thought it to be noteworthy.

Yeah, as a kid, reading a book about someone having awesome adventures and saving the world would be kind of ruined by a three chapter "I stayed in bed all day, watching HouseElf!Springer, eating only dry toast".

I don't think we can take "something boring not shown in the narrative" as evidence that it doesn't happen.

Molly and Arthur never had marital relations on page or on screen, so clearly their kids are gnomes raised as wizards. Or maybe magic folk reproduce by parthenogenesis.
