What is your favorite manga? It is a very simple question.



The ulimate horror manga. "Berserk"


I personaly like Berserk.Its status in the manga world is like "Lord of the Ring" or "Star Wars" saga. Need I explain more? I will anyway. He Has all of his friends killed, his army destroyed, his girlfriend raped and driven to insanity, his left arm cut off, his right eye gouged out and his destiny stolen all done by his best friend who he risked his life to save 6 hours earlier.


Guts, known as the Black Swordsman, seeks sanctuary from the demonic forces attracted to him and his woman because of a demonic mark on their necks, and also vengeance against the man who branded him as an unholy sacrifice. Aided only by his titanic strength gained from a harsh childhood lived with mercenaries, a gigantic sword, and an iron prosthetic left hand, Guts must struggle against his bleak destiny, all the while fighting with a rage that might strip him of his humanity.

WARNING: For a mature audience, contains much sex, extreme graphic violence(gore, blood, rape, etc). Definitely not for the weak hearted.

Berserk.

Epic plot once it gets going, awesome setting, deep "human characters" for the most part. Also has to have one of the worst betrayals and twists that is around ( The eclipse was bloody gruesome )

Fairly mediocre artwork at the start but around volume 10 you can certainly tell it has improved. Tbh Blade of the immortal is the only manga that I have came across with better artwork. ( No huge eyes like chobits. Fairly realistic style )

Yeah but you can tell very early on if you can't stand it or not. The first page has a sex scene in it.

Only really enjoy Berserk, FMA and Blade of the Immortal at the moment. Never liked Fate/Stay Night as I can't stand the master/servant thing. Used to enjoy Naruto but his one track mind about Sasuke annoys me. Believe it.

Tenjou Tenge was incredibly lulzy. Protect teh sk00l!

You can read most mangas online for free. Usually through IRC channels or msn groups. The translations jobs aren't that flash most of the time though.

 

Elfen Lied here too. The anime is disturbingly neat too. Pity my disc screwed up on me and i'm missing eps 1~5. a close 2nd would be Slam Dunk.

 

I love the DearS series with Trigun and Battle Royale coming in at close second...eh Death Note too although not as much as those above.

The Genshiken manga is made of epic win, as is Air Gear, Hellsing, Ah Megami-sama, BECK, and Gantz.

Elfen Lied can be seen as ecchi at times it is not an ecchi series, He is My Master, Mahoromatic, and Golden Boy are all real ecchi series (and come with a strong recomondation to go a check them out).

 

Elfen Lied is vaguely Ecchi, that I remember. One of my favorite manga series.

Blade of the Immortal is pimp, as well. Berserk, Pretty Face, Ichigo 100%, Hajime no Ippo, Eyeshield, Airgear, Midori no Hibi, Houshin Engi, Bleach, World Embryo, No Bra, and probably my favorite amongst the hundreds I have, Ah! Megami-sama.

 

Alive! was good before it was 86ed.

 

As long as it wasn't Rule 34'ed, it can't be that bad.

Honestly I do not understand Eyeshield 21. It is like a sports game to me; why bother with the game, or manga series in this case, when you could just play a pickup version of it with some friends?

 

Is eyeshield 21 the one with the crazy wolfman coach and the fast freshman?

 

My favorite manga currently is Shin Angyo Onshi. Some other manga that I like include Berserk, Claymore, D. Gray-man, Vagabond, and The Ravages of Time.

Hm, I'd have to say my favorite manga all time is One Piece.

The only manga to surpass Naruto in fail. One piece is THE worse manga to grace this world with its foul presence. Id rather read Card Captor Sakura.

And one I forgot: Zombie Powder was pwn before it got cut. Same Mangaka as Bleach.

 

I got to agree, Berserk is amazing. I downloaded all the available chapters from TorrentSpy a few weeks ago. Some sick shit in that manga.

Another great one I like would be Full Metal Alchemist. Only FMA could make me wish I lost a limb so I can have some bad ass automail.

I love Naruto, but Shipuuden has sort of been a let down for me. I just think that part 1 is superior.

Death Note. One of the greatest around in my opinion. How many storied do you get to read where the main character is the antagonist? It isn't great for action, rather it's great for being a psychological, suspenseful thriller.
