Once again I have an idea to a list: “The DLP Author” list. And since I’m bored, and I like making lists, I’ll make one if it’s in demand (Vash, Raven, Mid?).

I was thinking of a structure like this (Ideas?):

Authors are sorted alphabetically:

-Author- (Link to profile)

-Story 1

Chapter 1 (Link to chapter)
.
.
.
Chapter n (Link to chapter)


-Story 2 (mature)

Chapter 1 (Link to chapter)
.
.
.
Chapter n (Link to chapter)

And so on

I know you (mods and admins) have other things to do than keeping this up to date, so I’ll do it and then, about ones a month, send the updated list to an admin.

 

One thing makes this list not feasable. The writing user group and then the links to their profile to their FF account.

While it could be useful, seems like a huge job with little use.

What I do suggest is to add another entry in our profiles for FicWad accounts and possibly PC account when it's up and running.

Promote DLP authors to join the writers User group, look through the group and then you'd be sweet.

 

I dunno.. I wouldnt mind it I suppose...

 

I don't think it would be useful to link every chapter. Every story would suffice.

 

Hmm. You're are all correct, I'll just wait and see, how many people want this.

If the list is wanted, write a sales-tale and I'll put it in the start.

 

It would be pretty cool, but it would be a big B-I-T-C-H to keep up with amount of chapters and such. A little bit too much hassle for something like this.

Anyway, if I drop the chapter thing, it should be easier.

I think a list of the Work by Author section is a great idea. It takes a while to find old chapters, and as someone who prefers to read on DLP's format, I would love a list like that. However, you are going to be the one putting in all the work. You should do the one that you would enjoy doing most.

 

I would definitely enjoy making the DLP Author list most, as I've already gone through the library ones, when I made the list over stories in the library.

Anyway, I agree with you, I for one like reading on DLP format more than on ffn format.

Yes it would, the only problem is that not all DLP authors, have there work in the 'work by author' section.

 

Personally I'd like to see more happening with the "writers corner" group but whatever. Members of "The Order of the Black Denarian" get those red custom member titles that make them really stand out but the authors, the core of a fanfic community, have nothing to mark them...

A general list of authors and links to their FFnet profile, homepage or Y!group (for those that have them), and an email address (if they want to supply it) might be a cool resource to have around. I do have a lot of other author's emails and what not but on those rare occasions I want to track them down I never know where they are.

 

I think that it is a nice idea, if a lot of work for you... Hell, no one is going to say "No, I don't have any interest in seeing such a list. DO NOT DO SO"... lol.
If you're up for it, I say go right ahead...

 

I'll do that, and the structure will be like the following, so any comments, before I get to the rest, would be nice.

You're also labled a "Denarii Host" instead of "Unspeakable" or some other rank based on post count. Maybe it's not a function of being a group, but it gives the impression that it is.
