I thought that too but then I realized... we should treat this entire situation as a badly written Harry Potter novel. Get in the mind of jk rowling and all that...

I've been going on very little sleep; reading and studying the last few days, so bear with me... this train is about to take a stop into Quibbler territory.

Now if this entire scenario was fanfiction, with jkr as the author...

Something that I remember hereing a while back comes to mind. Apperently she had a visit from a fan once who had written his or her own end ot the series... [anyone able to back me up on this?]

What if [ sleep deprived I remind you ] she suddenly gets this idea... what if she took that story, with the authors permision... and had it published and binded into its own book. One copy... maybee two.

Then she had someone take that book, photograph it, and then... leak it intentionally.

Bloomsbarry or whoever it is probably would be willing to have it done and it could be done fairly hush hush with maybee a handful of people knowing.

This way, if any true leaks come up... the fans who have read the fake book could denounce it for her with the fake plot. citing it as too realistic... that the other whispers of things to come are just lies by tricksters who want to get attention...

In my mind, it makes a strange kind of, Dumbledore-end-of-the-story, type sense...

    Its so convoluted its brilliant.

God I should write for the quibbler... I'm goign to bed.

I know. I took the multi image version that was spread over 4 rar files and had a password and condensed them all into a pdf. That's the only difference, how it's packaged.

I hope it's real, because I actually like the version I got from here. Low chance that I'm gonna like that and the real thing too.

The only thing I hope is real is that I heard Harry actually is enjoyable to read. Cause I am getting tired of the Harry from the last 2 books. I want to read a Harry who takes charge and kicks ass.

Harry is somewhat less stupid. He still has no motivation to learn; he's just looking for a deus ex machina to defeat Voldemort. It is really the only thing he can do at this point, but still.

Does anyone have both versions of the leak. Both full versions of it?
I've only got the one with the Ron survives epilogue...

even if they're both fake I kind of want to read each befor eI buy the second book.

The thing that bothers me is that while aspects of the leaked book conform to Petunia's comments in OotP ('horrible boy', 'Dementors', and it's reasonable that Lily and Petunia once lived in the same city as Snape), the ending is just... fanfiction-y ooey-gooey.

"Albus Severus"? "Two of the greatest Headmasters"? And those other names for the kids? Shoot, how many fanfiction authors who can't come up with better names end up just re-mixing names from the Marauder era have written endings like that?

No matter how to slice it, the fact is that Dumbledore was exposed as a flawed individual and Harry had ample reason to believe this was possible given DD's own revelations in OotP. And while Harry may not be prone to petty resentment at the level Snape can stoop to, if I were him I'd still twitch just a bit if someone mentioned Severus Snape.

    I. may. vomit.

I take back my earlier statement about the leaks not being seriously reported by the news. I was watching the news a few hours ago and they talked about the leaks and stuff.

i think the pictured one, which tonks, dobby, severus... die, is a fake one. the writing style is very simple and it is too fanfiction like style. also in that version, voldemort destroys the sorting hat, but at the last chapter "19 years later" harry tells his son Albus that the child will be able to chose gryfendor over slytherin. he then adds "the sorting hat takes your choice into account". well sorting hat was destroyed. it could be argued that a new one is made but i don't think so, as it was the founders who built it. it needs knowledge and skill.

also, the part of snape - lily interaction is very unrealistic. not the interaction at school but the at their childhoods. it is just unfitting, having they are acquinted before hogwarts.

oh i almost forgot, hermione summoning books that belonged to dumbledore from her dormitory. At that moment i understood this was a fake one. what a shit!!

i must admit though, the story isn't bad and it is definetly better than the sixth book.

Hmm. It's fake for a few reasons: a few of the confirmed things didn't happen. Nothing was revealed about Petunia, no nonmagic person does magic late in life, and we never found out why some people become ghosts and others don't.

Well, actually something was revealed about Petunia. As for the other two things, one of them (a nonmagic person doing magic) dates back to an interview given in 1999; I don't know about the ghost thing, but she might have said it a long time ago, as well. The point is, we know she made some changes in her original plans, so that's not enough to declare the text fake.

And one other thing for you to mull over: the story ties in perfectly with all of the covers, and the last of them (the one with the dragon) was released no more than two months ago. I don't know about you, but I find it extremely unlikely that someone could write such a plausible version of Book 7 on such short notice; after all, it took JKR a year and a half, even though she'd planned a lot of it beforehand.

But all the dragon cover dealt with was how they escaped. It could easily be glossed over then filled in later.

You make it sound much easier than it actually would have been :) And anyway, the other covers were released at some point in spring, if I'm not mistaken, which would still leave very little time to the alleged faker.

ok I can't believe no one pointed this out yet... either that or I'm missing something.

The american cover art... with voldemort and harry both reaching for something... how does that fit in with the stories we've read.

If anything that scene is completely absent... unless I'm forgettign something.

They're clearly outside somewhere, neighter has a wand pointing at the other... I suppose it could be the final duel when harry gets the elderwand... but where are the spells?

Every other book besides philosophers stone had clear scens directly from the book as their main cover page. Philosophers was an abstract mis mash...

That seems obvious to me now that the elder wand version is a complete and utter fake. A really well done fake... but a fake none the less.

it should be fake, at least i hope. while it is better than 6th book, the seventh one must be much exciting, splendid than the one we all read.

Well, even if it's a fake, it was well worth reading.

Now that I think of it, we didn't find out what Dudley saw from the Dementors either.
