So, people were complaining in the thread discussing her last interview that almost only bullshit questions were asked--which I have to agree with. So why don't we try to get our own exclusive chat interview with her? I know it's a long shot, but it doesn't hurt to try, we're a reasonably sized community after all, even if a little heterodox. Thoughts?

It would be nice, we could try, but her agents or she herself will come to the site, look at our Half-Baked Plot, Deathly Hallows and other bashing threads and will say "NEXT". Not to mention our Sick and Perverse section... We could try of course. It would really help with fiction writing. By the way, sorry for my crappy English.

 

That would be very interesting and kind of funny if this were to happen. I can imagine us asking JKR questions that shock her or anger her. Be funny if one of the questions asked is "Why did you make HBP so shitty?"

I think the biggest obstacle is actually getting her attention for this . How would we go about it? Petition? Email? Have one of the Admins dress up as a girl scout, knock on her door, and when she answers he kidnaps her which will then lead to an intense interrogation?

 

Has anyone ever see the spoof movie "Loaded Weapon"? This quote gave me the mental image of the movie's opening adapted to have JKR rather than Whoopie Goldberg.

Anyway, I think the idea's a good one, but hard to pull off. If people were serious about this then one of the Admins would need to submit a request to her agent or publisher would be my guess.

 

There's no way that JKR would come to a community that's completely anti-everything she did after book 5, and some that she did then. She's more likely to go to mugglenet, or some other H/G-friendly site whose members are too obsessed with teh perfect lovurz <3 to think about the plot holes and inconsistancies.

And, frankly, I'm completely ok with that. Not that I don't respect JKR for her writing--Harry Potter is literally one of the most Epic series of our generation, and I think that we can all agree to that. But the truth of the matter is that it is, at best, an overall average series. Just because it awakened the imaginations of millions of children worldwide doesn't give it protection from the real problems and mistakes in the writing itself. We all are aware of those--hell, we talk about them almost every day. No, it's for the best that she stays far, far away from our little enclave.

 

I don't think we could get much useful stuff out of her anyways. Honestly, I'd rather have a DLP conclusion to a plot hole then her pulling out some other Elder Wand-esque crap that she thought up for a children's book, which HP truthfully is. I like darker stuff, things which JKR just can't seem to tolerate, and I could much more easily see her -as you all have said- on mugglenet and SIYE then on this site.

 

Meh. I think it'd be fun to have her do an interview with us just to see how long it takes before people either made her cry, sue someone, or produce a pure Harry/Ginny book 8 just to spite us.

 

I think it more likely that, were DLP brought to JKR's attention, she and her team of lawyers would rather have this place closed down than grant an exclusive interview.

 

They couldn't legally do anything, could they? We haven't done anything against any laws that I know of and if she tried and succeded... wow, my life revolves around this site.

 

Sounds like a pipe dream but definitely worth a shot.

Possible Scenario: All the sites are too intimidated to bother asking for an interview (kitchenware anyone?), or simply write it off as an impossibility and don't even try.

Then DLP swoops in for the kill, although I fear we would inevitably lose.

Scenario numero 2: Millions of sites are submitting their own requests and once her agents even bother skimming through this site they laugh at us.

End of story.

I feel sad once more, my hopes and dreams crushed.

Still though, we should actually attempt to do this, make a petition and post it under DM/HP slash...

I don't think so...unless there's illegal stuff in S&P. I wouldn't really know as I don't venture there, but I seem to remember seeing a thread title, "Man has sex with dog", or somesuch a few days back.

And of course, she could always just take away fanfiction full stop. One letter to the owners of fanfiction.net and everything would disapear. That'd be a bit drastic though.

On the subject of getting an interview: do we even know who you would approach/email for a request like this?

 

Well, she said that she reads fanfiction and has no problem with it, so I doubt she'd take it all away just to punish a few deviants...

As for S&P, we could always do a bit of preventive cleaning, or hide the board temporarily.
Anyway, I assume there is some sort of contact address at her site, though don't quote me on this.

 

I'm all for the idea, but we would need to hide the S&P section and some of the harsher threads bashing JKR, HBP, etc. Just to give us a fighting chance at getting an interview. In the small chance that we actually get an interview, THEN we can bring out the big guns.

 

Getting her to meet with DLP would be the biggest challenge of course, and then having her answer our questions in the interview would be very interesting, to say the least.

And the questions themselves, I have a feeling that her answers towards us will be less than satisfactory.

 

If we submitted the questions well in advance so that she had time to think on them then the answers would be satisfactory I believe. She's not stupid after all. Most of the condradictory parts of HP canon in the past have resulted from JKR having to answer questions on the spot that she'd never thought about before, and so giving an answer that may not mesh well with the world when a deeper examination is given.

Like her answer to the wizarding numbers question.

What is the likelyhood she hasn't heard about the contents of DLP? Give yourselves some credit!

In all honesty I think if we presented a string of questions to her and then petitioned that she answer them we might run a fair chance of getting at least some of them answered. What's the worst that can happen? She Ignores it or declines.

Well... I suppose the worst would be if she asked people to stop writing fanfiction about her story, but if she's tollerated all the slash that's currently in existance I really don't think we'd push her over the edge.

... No that was not a challenge.

 

So, who's going to present the petition, if DLP goes for it?
