Well, saying the one in a million chance happens we would have to be smart. Some people like Vash, in all his wisdom, may be too extreme for her. We would need to pick the most level headed person who knows about and has been on DLP for a while.

I'm a level-headed, reasonable, non-assholish person that has been on DLP for a while.

    Lol.

Now, THAT is one moment I would love to be a fly on her wall while she reads the fics. I am sure that she would love your fics Vash....if she was on crystal meth ;)

I think she once stated in an interview that she does not like smut fanfiction... >_>... that kinda hurts DLPs chances... though it would be interesting if we tried and succeeded.

There's always the slight chance that JKR's into that sorta stuff.... however small that chance is.

An interview with her would prove amusing, but I'd be more inclined to just insult her and set her off-kilter.

Don't expect anything productive coming from my corner of the forum.

    Ahahahaha.... Responsible, nice, level-headed...

... Trying to think of all the people who meet these qualifications on site. ;)

Really, though- I seriously doubt there's much of a chance of any sort of interview. Even if we submitted questions, we'd likely get an automated response, or perhaps a set of pre-written answers that decently match the questions asked.

In terms of questions, they would have to be extremely well thought out and wholly unique to even have a chance of being answered by the woman herself.
I mean, it's not like she's going to look at all her mail, and answer it.

More likely, it goes through some filter, and any questions are responded to by people with an automated list. Getting to Rowling or her agents would be the hard part...

And, do(es) they (she) really want to talk to people who pretty much despise what she's done past OoTP?

While there's a small chance that she/they would be interested in hearing from people that aren't falling over themselves to kiss her ass, and praise her in ungodly amounts, I kind of doubt it.

No one really likes to be dissed, and the bestselling author in recent history? No fucking way.

But hell... If we could, that'd be amazing, and I'd love to see it. ^_^

I think, if we tryed and got an atoumated response, we could bug other sites that have had interviews until they told us how they got them.

Would certainly be interesting to see the answers that she would come up with, if we just emailed her, and somehow actually got a real thought out answer from her, I suspect it wouldn't be bad since she could have time to think on it. However the cance of that happening are around the chances of winning the lottery I think.

We could try coming up with a list of questions, that don't insult her, and have everybody email her the questions, but rephrase them so it wouldn't look like we were trolling her, she would actually look the questions and come up with an answer. Ok probably not but it's the best I've got.

The best we could hope for is getting a list of questions we'd like answered and sending it off, along with a request for her to join us in the DLP IRC. If any of you are seriously toying with the notion, then start a list of questions you want answered, proper questions, not "Why did HBP suck so much?" 'cause that would just put her off answering the request at all.

Yeah, I think that's the most we can achieve.

As the questions will be different from and more intelligent than the usual fangirl stuff (at least I hope so), she and her staff might even be interested in answering them.

... I don't think that anyone actually thought about this, but if she gave us the interview, the news that she was giving an interview to DLP would be all over the interwebs. Which would probably lead to a massive influx of H/G fangirls who join just to see the interview. Unless, on the off chance that she does give the interview, the admins disable registration, I'll stick with a bastardization of something Midknight once said- fanfiction exists to fill in the massive plot-holes she created.

Also, who would you email a request to? She doesn't actually read any of her fanmail (she said so on her site), so unless someone here's a hacker....

Please tell me that all of you realize that this is not in the least bit possible? The other sites that got the interviews had 100 times the members we do. Of course we'll never get this interview.

You, sir, are too realistic. Our gathering could undergo a recruitment campaign of a massive scale hitherto unwitnessed by the cyber world, utilizing the forum's dramatic mystique and gentry green tint to full effect and by appealing to and manipulating the deeply ingrained desire within the human psyche for the darker, more primal aspects of Harry Potter fandom, thus gaining the membership figures compulsory for attaining an audience with our every so lofty errant author, who will then obligingly acquiesce and consign herself to the dread "Chatroom", answering every question to her fullest ability.

Easier done than said, but still.

For one... does anyone even have any of her contact information? I'm fairly sure it's not on her main site for obvious reasons, though I gave it a look over and nothing turned up. I also fairly sure that noone has any idea where she lives, and I would question whether or not her publishing company would let the letter through after a quick check for content.

With that said, I actually believe that she would grant us the interview if we posed the request as a spinoff community which preferred to write stories from outside of the box, and weren't contented with the general conformity of the other sites. Since most of the people here seem to be majoring in Political Sciences and Pre-Law, we're obviously not a community of dumbasses, since it's pretty damn hard to get into a college that has Pre-Law in the first place. So we could word the request as if we've found some inconsistencies in the book, and would like some other generic question answered.

I'm somewhat good at sucking it up and don't mind taking whatever fall there is; I'll volunteer to write it should anyone manage to land her email. That, and I'm not as radical as a lot of the people on this site.

    Edit:
    Damn straight, Xiph0.

Has JK ever done web based chats before? I've never really given a damn about HP interviews since I've been a fan, but I would assume she has. And what would the criteria to get into one of those be? The most likely thing to happen would be having a bunch of users from the site make sure they are participating in a web chat if she ever has one.

    Yeah that seems more reasonable.

I already have my five new usernames lined up:

thatperson, whichperson, whatperson, whoperson, and person.

No one will ever know it was us.

Did anyone ever actually write the petition?

I still think we should just post it on FFN under slash and link them to the petition. Stupid people will sign without second though, and that's what 75% of FFN.
