The only Anime I ever liked was DBZ and just plain ol Dragon Ball when I was iliterate, prepubescent, and more than a little bit saner.

I looked through the reviews... the only one that talked about the pairing is an Oliver Wood slash fan (chapter 6 reviews). The story, from what I inferred, is also being crossposted to SIYE.

And as a female member who isn't prepubescent and who has never touched anime/manga, I feel marginalized. I shall endeavor to read this fic and legitimately flame it.

 

Why can't we all just push the report abuse button, get him banned, then calmly send him an e-mail reading "Compliments of DLP"

He thinks we're weeaboos'... haha. Wrong site. DLP has possibly the least of all HP fandom sites I've found. I like some anime and manga. I also enjoy cartoons. I also enjoy regular old television.

I bet he didn't check the site at all, and was just pissed off someone asked him to 'drop the H/G'. Seriously, I think the reviewer just meant to not come off as a Ginny-fan.

He over-reacted, and I hope he apologizes/semi-apologizes after he reads 'claw's review. If he responds, Lord Ravenclaw, let us know and post it if you can. He seems like a decently minded author, and I enjoy this fic. It's terribly slow at times, but it's still good.

I also happen to agree with his views on H/G. I have little reason to blindly hate her. Especially in an AU. I just loath the BS fannon shit h/g has turned into. The problem is, even for those who've had the pairing permanently stained for them, we come off like closed-minded vindictive bastards, when most of use are far from that.

I understand the pairing is a stain in the HP fannon universe (and I agree, I can just take it if it's done very well canon is, or if she's completely different in an AU and done well (not fannon!Ginny)). We just need to perpetuate the reasoning behind our hatred more.

I hardly see how this 'owns' us by the by. Replace DLP with 4chan or around half of DeviantArt, and maybe ownage would be more appropriate.

I left a review, nothing too bad, just some words.

 

I did hit the BUTTON I wanted too. No matter how many times I refrain myself I couldnt stop myself.

I had trouble controlling myself when I left a review. Im too tired to have much control.

 

I agree with a fair amount of your post, LogrusMage; the biggest problem is this quote:

In regards to the dipshit that posted that Author's Note...I'd like to say something, but hell; I can't come up with anything at the moment, for whatever reason.

 

The best reply would be to tell him that he should drop the Harry/Ginny so that he can post it at DLP. It seems that is the thing that bothers him, so rub it in his face.

 

I don't really care what he says. At best, he's wasting his early years reading fanfiction like we do. At worst, he's wasting his rapidly dwindling remaining years reading and writing it, which is far worse, because from what I understand you can't really afford to fuck around later on in your forties if you want to make it. No offense to those on here who actually are forty and do just fine.

He can preach on about us being useless nerds all he wants, but well, hey buddy, you're reading and writing Harry potter fanfiction like the rest of us. You really have no room to talk about the nerd topic.

And on the manga/anime topic, excuse me for not wanting to read or watch the recycled bullshit that is The X-men and The Avengers. When something like Death Note comes out, you kind of say 'fuck this shit, it's been the exact same premise with different villains for decades'.

On another note, I feel like such an anti-nerd, internet wise. What the hell is a weeaboo?

 

I bet he's just mad because his story didn't make it into our library. If he changed it from H/G it totally would though!!!!

If FFN feels that our reviews should be removed due to us merely defending ourselves, should his/her fic not be removed, or atleast edited, for outright attacking us?

None of the reviews posted were rude, infact they were suprisingly polite. The only one who came across as rude was moshpitstories him/herself. Perhaps he/she was intimidated by the properly formed vocabularies of Lord Ravenclaw and others? I was halfway through a review myself, before I stupidly hit the "restart now" button instead of "delay".

(Sorry to those of you I didn't mention, but his was the one that stuck out most... then I rebooted and they were gone o_<)

Lorelei of the Sea informs me that they don't show up if you just hit the reviews link, you now need to go to chapter 25 itself. Either you're doing that, or you're just looking at a cached page.

Heavy lulz. He must be in his late 20th / early 30th, is married, and has at least one kid. That are the bits I remember from his a/n in Siye.


Here his story was critizised, even bashed, not (only) for H/G but for using japanese clichés in HP, prang-war, OBHWF, Gryffindor-circle, etc ... - or in other words, for exactly the elements someone would think a prepubescent (fe-)male fangirl/boy includes in a fanfic.

I think that's all he learned about us - perhaps indeed twisted by Kinsfire & cie. I doubt the author visited the thread himself, otherwise he would have known that there are also several people liking his story - at least until now.

Well - I posted the story in 'for review' two days before I joined the site, as back then it was possible for unregistered users to suggest something. I still follow the story, but the author I'll simply ignore from now on.

EDIT: Eh - he has different A/Ns on ff.net and Siye. That's why I didn't saw his comment before.

 

I haven't exactly been on this site for long, but this has definitely amused me.
I don't recall seeing any discussion of anime or manga since I have been here, which makes me think that whoever the author is, I think it is moshpit but I can't be bothered to go and check, just picked some things that could be labelled as geeky and applied them to the whole of DLP.

Also, to all the people saying that they want to go flame him in response, that is in no way the best way to get back at someone on the internet, it just looks pathetic unless you are really good at it.
What you have to do is either be really condescending or incredibly bitchy, repeatedly.
If say 10 or 20 people from here started being bitchy and pointing out all the flaws with his stories every time he posts a chapter he would get far more annoyed than having to read a few insults.
The thing about the internet is, you see, that insults mean bugger all, insults are flung about all the time. To really get under someone's skin you have to put effort in, you have to commit yourself to making their time on the internet painful.
