This little piece proves that girls really do have a more vicious sense of cruelty than boys.

Other than that bit of important evidence: Entertaining like hell, I laughed and cringed at places. I am even more solidly convinced that Tinn needs to write us some truly twisted dark fics.

The one-shot has very good description and mood setting, something that is rare for fics this size; it makes for a complete short-short story.

Great characterization, Fleur has more depth than what Rowling gave her, and no it isn’t the typical fanfic description of her with legs in the air or whining about being too pretty to have friends. You actually root for her, again showing depth of character in a short piece gives it points.

Lastly it is a ginny kill off entry but strangely without the very typical gratuitous gore. So it is a fresh take on it.

Quite frankly, if Fleur was masturbating to disfigured!Ginny, I would find the fact that we're both French extremely upsetting .

Dunno... This one was an entry for the last Ginny Kill Off, which I started months ago then abandoned; I found the beginning in an old folder and finished it today 'cause I couldn't find the inspiration to update another of my fics.

Logrus, your logic baffles me -- IMO a one-shot has a much better chance of getting a 5/5 than a chaptered story, where there's always a risk for it to go down the drain and/or (given the superior amount of words) contain a few irksome little details. That said, I'm perfectly happy with this 4.9/5, so thanks for that.

Last, to the mod who might move this to the library: I'm thinking that "AU" would be more appropriate a category, since it's not DH-compliant. Thanks!

 

My reasoning is, it's too easy for a one-shot to be perfect . I really only give 5/5 to chaptered stories that are complete, and blow my mind. 4.9 means it blew my freakin' mind, but I just can't give something that short or unfinished a 5/5.

Isn't every fic in existence technically AU now? Shouldn't we now use the term AU for fics that deviate very early on in the series? To me, anything Post-OOTP is not AU, as the Harry Potter had it's basic plot all structured out by then.

I agree. IMHO OOTP will likely remain the main launch point for most HP fanfiction, simply because of two reasons...

First, its the best point to split because by the end of HBP you're entering the end game while with OOTP its more the wars just offically gone hot.

Second, OOTP was possibly the best book of the series and the later two don't compare. Also, they make the Ginslut relationship entrenched canon and we can't have that... at least not without stomach cramps.

 

Hehehe this was cool, death with cosmetic spells! New, innovative, and ridculously funny gonna have to be nothing short of 5/5!
