I fucked up my A levels a bit, I should have got As in maths and geography and a B in physics, but managed to get BBC somehow, missing AAB by about 5 marks out of 600 in each subject.

However, I still got into my first choice of university, so for the next 3 years i will be studying Meteorology.

I have been drinking since 11am when I found out I got into uni, which was 13 and a half hours ago, so the probability of drawings is quite high.

Congratulations! Practice consuming alcohol at every opportunity between now and your first day lest you be branded a 'n00b' when you get there, it is necessary believe me.

Seriously though, good job. Its always a more enjoyable experience when its actually the place you wanted to go. Now all you have to do is enjoy it when you get there :)

I got into my first choice uni. I hated it there, I'm going to my third choice now. I hope you have better luck and enjoy it more.

Oxford was my second choice. I didn't get in, I think the whole American thing screwed me over. I do love that place, though.

    Don't go to college.

Rebel against the system that owns us.

    It's the DLP way.

(PS. What college are you going to? Doesn't seem to have been mentioned in this thread)

Congrats. :p I got in my first choice too. -snicker-

Given, a community college isn't hard to be accepted into. Fair education + basically free with financial aid = win.

Good luck with all the college bullshit you'll soon suffer through, I'm already tired of it and I don't start until Sept 5th.

I got into my first choice, moved into the dorms and realized no one in my major got out in 4 years. I kept meeting folks who were 24, 25 years old and still saying "I'm so close..." USF means "U Stay Forever" or "U're Still Failing" according to dorm gossip. I was out after five but some of my classmates are still there...

Enjoy the college experience. You'll have some crazy times, hear completely unbelievable stories, drink yourself stupid, and meet amazing people.

Putting Oxford as your second choice is what fucked you over, they don't like that. You have to put them as your first choice or they will just tell you to fuck off.

I am going to Reading Uni to study Meteorology, as it is the best uni for meteorology in this country. I was tempted by going to America and going to university in Oklahoma as it is supposed to be one of the best places for meteorology, but that was way too much effort.

Yeah, I got into my first choice uni too. But shouldn't you have got your results yesterday? I guess you've been partying lol.

Anyway, I got an A in Economics, an A in Religious Studies, a B in Biology, a C in Maths, and a B in AS Physics. Which rounds up to AABCb, or 440 UCAS points, so I'm off to the Uni of East Anglia in Norwich to study joint honours in Economics and Philosophy. Woot!

Good luck with Reading, I have a few friends going there, I've heard it's a good uni.

UEA was one of my 6 choices, true story. Although i turned down the offer and had Reading as my firm choice and Leeds as my insurance.

Congrats man. I'm stuck in school for another year before Uni, but I still got exam results not too long ago. I got BBCCC on my Highers, which I believe are slightly easier than A Levels but a hell of a lot harder than GCSE's. Maths, Geography, English, Chemistry and Administration respectively btw.

EDIT: Oh, this is probably the best thread to ask this question in. In my 3rd year at Uni, I hope to participate in the Erasmus project and study for the year at a Uni in another country. Can anyone suggest good Uni's in english speaking countries which have a good reputation for their politics course?

Oh, I didn't *tell* them it was my second choice. I definitely said it was my favourite school in the universe at my interview. I think the interviewer hated me, too. The blow of the rejection letter was rather softened by the acceptance one I got from MIT several days before, so it was okay.

With our applications we have to apply to 6 courses, then put one as out first or firm choice, and one as our second or insurance choice. The uni that is your insurance choice will know that and a place like oxford won't let you put them as your insurance choice.
