Let's face it, some authors like to brag, and some others like to make us know how good their stories, their plots or their writing are. That wouldn't necessarily be so bad, if they were actually good. The problem is that the majority are not.

Driven by fanboy/girl-ish reviews telling them that the sun shines out of their asses they end making statements that later they may regret.

For example, THIS ONE

Now, while he's not as a shitty author as one would like him to be ( I actually like his story), and the one who told him about dropping certain aspects in his story may be not too bright either, he certainly's made a fool of himself and his fiction is nothing to brag about. So why the prepubescent anger? Why the venomous comments? Because he's a twat? maybe, but mainly because his head is so big he can't pull it out of his ass.

So here's my proposal: let's make a compilation of quotes of shitty authors with big heads. In reviews, Author's notes, comments, responses... And if they got owned afterwards, the better.

Let the hunt begin.

There are loads of threads similar to this one, pointing stories, summaries and quotes to laugh at. What makes this one different?

Will this thread make us feel better? I don't think so, won't let me sleep better at night either, but last I checked there was nothing wrong in laughing a bit.

If you feel this is not up to the standards of the site, sink it to the bottom or ask a moderator to close it, but again, I don't see the reason to get our knickers in a twist over this.

Maybe the title is not the best ever and can induce to some sort of misunderstanding. Maybe it's me.

 

How about instead of actively going out and finding shitty authors who are full of themselves, we just come back here and report the gems as we see them.

@ The Mysterious Nobody, not necessarily a bad idea for a thread but decent ones only come up every so often, and most of the more prominent ones have already been mentioned at DLP at some point. Vorlon's thread in THOS for example.
