@slasheh: Harry sacrificed someone to a demon in the early chapters of renegade. I seem to recall that he was a lowlife of somekind that was destined for hell anyway so its not quite as bad as it sounds.

Though I was surprised that Dumbledore did not bat an eye about that? Did he know that the one Harry sacrificed was a criminal? I assume so. Or perhaps he knows from Michael that the sword now prevents Harry from going all out evil and as such his earlier crimes dont matter anymore.

Anyway, on to the chapter.

Dumbledore is trying to cheat and Harry did not even notice! The price they agreed on in chapter 5 was 2500 galleons, not 2000 like mentioned here. That being said Dumbledore seemed pretty generous here. It will most likely silence all the complainers in ff.net who are worried about Harry becoming Dumbledore's bitch.

Will we find out who Dumbledore reminds Meciel off? At first I wondered if you might have been referring to the original Merlin. Meciel must have been around when he was alive afterall.

So Harry has to play by the rules. I wonder how that will turn out. Though given the way you had him rubbing his hands together mischievously I cannot help but wonder. Its only a crime if Harry is caught afterall, and somehow I would think Meciel is an expert at making someones life a living hell without actually killing or even seriously harming the target.

Looking forward to the next chapter and beyond. I wonder how(or even if) you are planning on getting Dumbledore kicked out. I cannot see Harry starting a club to teach others to defend themselves afterall. Then again, on second thought he did teach Amanda so who knows. Hopefully the next chapter will come soon!

EDIT: Oh and one more thing. What happened to the cuffs? I would expect that Harry would have wanted to keep them since they were made with his blood and Dumbledore might have agreed since Voldemort made those things? But I don't think their fate was even mentioned? Did I miss it?

Dakatim: The person who reminds Meciel of Dumbledore will come up again, either in this book or the next one, and will be a massive twist that I guarantee nobody will expect. Of course, now that I've said that, somebody's probably going to guess it before I even started.

Harry will be getting into trouble. Umbridge is really going to piss him off and he'll have his revenge, sooner rather than later.

A lot of that chapter was to reassure people, both here and at FF.Net, that Harry is not becoming Dumbledore's bitch. I don't intend on it and I certainly didn't want to portray it. Besides, I love Dumbledore as a character and the idea of two powerful wizards, one light and one dark, working together like that is just cool.

As for the DA, some form of it will exist and Dumbledore will probably get kicked out the hard way. Harry might be involved in the DA for a little bit, mainly just to piss off Umbridge, but he's going to have problems of his own. Vesper's still after him and we may see the return of our favourite Winter Lady....


(On another note, would I be a good voiceover for the end credits of tv episodes, saying what's happening next week and all?)

It seems weird to me that neither Harry nor Dumbledore insisted on destroying the cuffs. Their very existence is a huge weakness for Harry after all. Although I guess that Morgan would rather be burned alive rather than surrender one of the few ways to really control Harry.

Another thing that I find weird is that Dumbledore didn't even ask whether there was any sort of a justification for sacrificing those people.

Otherwise, the chapter is great - as usual.

 

I'm gonna guess at someone before Grindelwald came along . Cause how long is 'long ago' to a Fallen Angel? Besides, Gellert was still young back then, and idealistic, not the world-weary type Dumbledore is now.

If I had to guess... I would say Nicolas Flamel. That would seem sufficiently long enough .

I'm actually thinking that it will be Jesus. He was under a lot of strain before being crucified, he was key to the defeat of sin/Satan and so on. Also, being Jesus would mean that he was forgiving, kind, noble etc.

Either him or Michael the Archangel.

 

If you've forgotten there's a good bit of hatred between Meciel and God, I would assume that it would transfer down to his subordinates as well. Michael and Jesus especially because Michael would have fought against her in the Angelic Wars and Jesus... He basically is God.

Yeah I know that, but if I remember correctly, Mecial felt sadness one time after Harry felt the power the sword contained; perhaps she was remembering the 'good old days.' Of course, she also felt extreme hatred, but meh, it was just an idea.

 

Did I miss something or did Harry not actually give Dumbledore any information on Voldemort and his new allies?
