It would be impossible for Avada Kedavra to rip a part of your soul when casting it. Despite the obvious limitations, causing your soul's degradation, it doesn't make sense magically either.

Plus, the Aurors were given the right to use the Unforgivables in the last war with Voldemort. Highly unlikely that they would have been given if it ripped part of their soul.

 

I just thought of something, could someone write a fic please about the diary getting on someone else and Tom Riddle coming back to life before Harry Potter even goes to Hogwarts? Like what if Lucius Malfoy gave the diary to someone right after the Dark Lord fell?That would be absolutely insane. Just a theory haha.
