Simply incredible. I'm struggling to come up with something I didn't like about this chapter.

Perhaps the only thing wrong with it... was for me, the fact that the conversation moved so fast. Point A went to point B really quickly, it's fine as it is, and to rewrite the dialogue would be a bore for you I'm sure... but Dumbledore and Harry gloss over a lot of the details of how they're going to do things, it feels like Harry would be more wary to agreeing with Dumbledore, who has tricked him before.

 

A trilogy? You win.

 

My bets on Merlin for the guy or maybe Griffindor. Or the pope. Or Charles Manson.

 

I'm thinking it's this one Manson was very persuasive when he wanted to be. He also could manipulate people into trusting and liking him so much they'd jump in front of a bullet for him.:twisted:

Can't you just see Dumbledore in bright red and green robes giving presents out randomly?

... anyways, we have the White Council's actions, and though Harry can't do anything against them now, we know he will be plotting their untimely and grizzly deaths. We have Umbridge and Fudge and thier smear campaign, and I get the feeling that Harry is going to turn to Meciel to find ways to deal with that. Last, but not least, we have Harry essentially stuck in a place that is going to drive him stir crazy alongside a great many people who have the sense of a headless chicken.

So the question becomes, how can Harry break the rules while still staying within them?

 

It is not a matter of breaking rules as it is bending them. Remember he only said he would try.

Anyways, the whole Machiavellian plotting seems more like Meciel's speciality than Harry's. Harry focuses more on how to annoy, harm, and/or kill things than consciously manipulating them.

 

I'll take a guess that the person Dumbledore reminds Meciel is Morgan le Fay(Fey?)

 

I'll throw my two cents in and guess Lucifer. Bible mythology portrays him as silver tongued and an outwardly friendly individual, but the entire time he'd be trying to make you dance to his design. Then again, Shezza hinted that whoever it is would be important to the plot, so it's probably not someone of that stature.

To be honest, my bet is either on old Grindie, or Merlin. Seriously though, its nigh impossible to guess this shit. The amount of people that Dumbledore could remind Meciel of, with the combined people from the Bible, book of Enoch, etc. and Harry Potter is insane.

 

How would you know? I like to think that god, if one exists, would appreciate skepticism over blind faith. That's a topic for a different forum though.

Eh, I think these guys are both obvious guesses. Shezza insinuated we'd have difficulty guessing it, so I'm thinking it won't be someone who springs to mind right away.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Meciel is thinking Albus is a bit personality wise like her one-time human mate, or even Meciel's nephilim child. Granted, this is all hinted at early on in Denarian Renegade, but it is a possibility.

EDIT: I meant where in the story was it said that Meciel had a human mate and a child? However after learning to read I noticed that Robo Jesus already said that it was hinted at somewhere early in Renegade.

 

In Christian mythology the fallen angels took humans and had sex with them, their children being called Nephilim. It's usually about male angels and female humans, but Shezza could have twisted it around for his own purposes if he's going in the Christian mythology direction.

 

Very good, but I think you should vary the way Harry "goes back to his food".
