don't forget that we have had hints before that it takes longer for the Fallen to subjugate Wand Wizards compared to normal people, but when they do their power is immense.
Personally it seems more and more likely that that was Meciel's plan at the start. Wether she will actually go through with it, or decide to leave things as they are remains to be seen.

This is slightly lame, and way out in left field, but does anyone else think it might be cool for Harry's interest in Sirius to be piqued? Perhaps break him out of Azkaban, Sirius to have turned semi-dark due to his duration there, and Harry/Meciel procure for him... a coin? Surely Meciel can't be on bad relations with ALL of the other Denarians... I bet a 15 year imprisoned pissed-off Sirius with a Denarian of his own would be a pretty awesome counter-part for Harry.

As for Sirius, well, so far I've gotten one scene with him in it, an argument with Harry. Remember that he was in DR for a scene when Harry tried to attack Dumbledore, and he knows all about Harry's nature.

Does Harry want an army of nosy no-it-all's the will stay on the straight and narrow and hate him like Hermione or does he want an army of loyal followers that he can slowly corrupt?

You know, Harry should kill Fudge before Umbridge for the simple reason that without a powerbase on which Umbridge can fall back on, she ends up defanged and essentially powerless right before Harry kills her. Hell, if done right, it opens up the minister position for whoever Dumbledore can get into it, assuming everyone plays their cards right. Of course, one should never tempt Murphy, for he likes fucking up plans in the worst possible ways.

Cool chapter once more. Here are some thoughts.

So Harry is planning on executing his plans alone. I wonder if having "Voldemort" alone attack diagon alley would be believable though? I mean people would expect him to be accompanied by his death eaters would they not? Having "Voldemort" alone without any followers might actually support the ministrys claim that its just a copycat and not the real Voldemort since the real Voldemort would certainly have allies and followers. Meciel should anticipate that possibility even if Harry or Dumbledore do not.

There really should be "death eaters" too though the only group Harry has that would work would be the order and that would mean working together with Dumbledore instead of going around his back. I wonder if Tonks could use her ability to shapeshift into Voldemort without illusion magic. As for getting caught, could Dumbledore not create somekind of powerfull anti-portkey/apparition wards? That would prevent the aurors from arriving quickly enough to capture anyone and would infact lend further credence to the idea since few beyond Voldemort could produce wards that strong.

Still. Whatever you come up with, I am looking forward to it.

 

I particularly enjoyed that Meciel's illusion had materialized once more. I was going to complain about Harry not ''seeing'' Meciel in a long time, but I didn't want to sound like a rabid Harry/Meciel fanboy.

I won't make any suggestions about the Diagon Alley scenario, since Voldemort could attack by himself, or with followers either way. I am sure whichever you choose will be fine. Great job by the way.

 

Perhaps it would be better for Harry to go in a Death Eater disguise. That way, in the off chance Dumbledore chose to enact Harry's plan so quickly, there would be nothing weird about seeing 2 Death Eaters attacking the Alley.

Of course, that wouldn't have nearly as much effect as 'Voldemort' showing up.

 

Or it could turn the other way around if two Voldemort where to show at the same time. One being Harry and the other being OotP!Voldemort. It would just make Ministry claims that someone is trying to usurp Voldemort return more valid.
Or it could be a true comedy and real Voldemort could show up.

 

I don't think a group of Death Eaters appearing in Diagon Alley would change anything. After all a dozen Death Eaters running around the Quidditch World Cup didn't cause much stir beyond a few headlines in the Daily Prophet. Fudge would sweep it under the rug as "Sirius Black stirring things up." Just as happened in canon, the only thing that will convince Fudge and the rest of the British Wizarding World is Voldemort appearing in public.
